Mobile Codes beta moved to archived status; site remains available

The Mobile Codes experimental beta was one of the first items in the Nokia Beta Labs catalog, added in April 2007. The Mobile Codes site makes it easy to generate your own barcodes for use on websites, promotional materials and business cards.
Now three years on, it's time to move Mobile Codes out of our list of active betas since there are no plans to develop the site further. However, the site will remain up and running at http://mobilecodes.nokia.com for those that want to continue using it.
This archival is primarily about clarifying the expectations regarding feedback. Mobile codes still hold a special place in our hearts, and both barcode generation and scanning are nowadays integral parts of Nokia Point & Find activities.

I had been missing Mobile Barcodes when I upgraded from my N95 8GB to my N97. Pitty a S60v5 version was never developed although I accept there are a number of 3rd party barcode readers out there. Then Point & Find arrived and it is improving as time passes. Still not as good as Mobile Codes, IMHO, when it comes to bar code reading though.

hhassan30 - Bar code reader. My bar code reader on my E71 has never worked, not matter what firmware i am on, and i am on the latest. It has never worked, not even on the codes that are included in the phone's box packaging and plastic wrappers inside the box. I called, sent bug reports and nothing has ever come back. I have reinstalled FW many times over the last year and it still does not work, and I am unable to delete it as a memory of nokias terrible customer service. if it doesnt work, why do i have to see it on my phone?
It is a pity that Mobile Codes went to the archive

http://mobilecodes.nokia.com started requiring basic authentication, which causes my gmail barcode signatures to pop-up login box every time I open any email. Please fix it.
