Update your profile to get personalized download pages at Nokia Beta Labs
Mon, 2010-05-17 10:00We've been testing a new feature at Nokia Beta Labs and want to draw your attention to it if you haven't seen it yet.
In short, you can specify in your profile which device(s) you own so that when you go to download an application you will get the files and instructions for your device(s) only. (At the moment, there are some known issues when displaying download instructions for multiple devices.) If you have no device specified, you'll get the full instructions as before.
Similarly, when you're browsing the Applications list, you can filter the list down to apps you can try on your device(s).

We know this is something that has been requested for some time, and we hope you find it useful. As always let us know if you experience any problems in either the functionality or in how the compatibility is specified for particular applications. (Note: some applications don't have compatibility specified if they are online services or if their download instructions are better understood in their current form.)
As you might have guessed, we have plans to take this further too. One improvement in the pipeline is to filter the download instructions on our mobile site to just the phone you are using even when you haven't specified your device(s). Integrating the same device selection widget from other Ovi services is on our radar as well, but that will take more time to do.
For now, please update your profile pages with the device(s) you would like to do testing with and see how this works for you.

PS - While you're editing your profile, why not update the other information too and allow us to contact you for randomized follow-up surveys about the applications you download?

Followed this and selected my device - Nokia N900
"Show applications I can try" -> No items found
Hoping for more N900 love....
Thats great! Maybe you could consider not having the word "Nokia" in front of all phones in the list? Or do you expect phones from other manufacturers to figure at some point?
The reason why I'm suggesting this, is that I personally often use the keyboard to jump to a point in the list close to what I want, but tapping "N" to get to my N79 is kind of pointless when all entries in the list start with the Word "Nokia". Of course now that I've added my phone it doesn't really matter to me anymore, but maybe someone else will appreciate it.
Thanks!
Allan

If you find a post helpful give it a thumbs up.
Good idea, thanks guys.
Might be an idea to highlight the "add" buttons after an item has been selected in the dropdowns.
I couldn't find a save button anyware and it took me a while to realise clicking the "Add" listed the item out to the right.
Perhaps I'm just having a slow day.
how can win price here
