An update to Wellness Diary in the works

Hi folks,

new wellness diaryI just wanted to give you a heads up that a new beta version of Wellness Diary is in the works to help you manage and improve your wellness. With it you'll be able to set individual goals in several areas (weight, sleep, exercise, activity, diet, stress, etc.) and see your progress immediately with graphs and, if you like, share with and get feedback from others.

The new Welness Diary is still under development and will be available later this year for you to try out and give feedback.  If you're interested in being notified by email when the new beta version is available, please go to the existing Wellness Diary page and click "Add to my Favorites".  You'll also find a few details of what the new service will entail.  We'll of course publish the news in our blog and Twitter feed too.

The new Wellness Diary builds on the stengths of the Wellness Diary and Step Counter that have been available from Nokia Beta Labs. So at this time we're going to move these two items out of our list of active trials and update the Wellness Diary page when we release the new beta version later this year.

More details about this work-in-progress can be found on the existing Wellness Diary page.

Ah I like this. Do you already have screenshots or is this still in the specification phase?

cool and I had almost given up hope of seeing these apps further developed.

well this was a ray of light after the dull annoncment that messaging for social networks was killed.

I have been waiting and hoping to see these two apps further developed and if I understand this blog post correctly: step counter and wellness diary will be merged into a new and exciting native app. That is great news. I hope the step counting part will be able to run as a service in the background to conserve memory and battery life. I also hope the new app will be able to get stuff from the phones calendar (such as work hours etc) and maybe assist in entering sleephours by reading the alarm clock settings and asume when you went to bed based on phone movement. or profile setting. anyway these are stuff i sugested a long time ago.

One thing though the post dosen't mention it, but can we asume this new wellness diary/stepcounter will work on 5ed devices, such as say the N97?

Best wishes on the development
and looking forward to the first test

UPDATE

just went to the apps page and read what to expect, I'm glad to see you incorporated many of the ideas and sugestions i've made early on, especialy when it comes to the 3ed party service addons, and the commercial value this app may have. Good to know we are not preaching to ded ears :) eager to test it out so do email me as soon as an app is ready for testing.

Hi @stbluhm, good to hear! We have already functional SW-versions, but as there might still be some changes to the UI, we need to wait for a while before sharing screenshots. Keep in touch!

Hello @iivo, cool that you've contributed that much by now - and your further ideas are naturally also valid. Pls. note by launch we will have one set of features, but the development continues... Obviously you also noticed there will be a Symbian touch screen version, seems to fit to your needs. Stay connected!

So if I use the current application, would I get any benefit out of it?
Do I have to keep it running for my steps to be counted?

Hi @alex_mayorga, in order to count steps the service needs to be running - but only in background. Wait and see, hope you clicked "add to my favorites".

It is 1 year and 3 monthes that I was waiting for this news :))

Good to hear @navio1973 - you only need to wait a short time before you can test the New Wellness Diary!

will this information be stored in google health or MS healthvault. It iwll be cool to have that integration and store data wirelessly. no other device does that.

hi

Nokia Step counter is not working on nokia x6 whereas I want to have that very important application in my cell. How and when could I have that for nokia x6 ????

Hi @apogula, as you obviously have noticed, there are no limits when planning the potential use cases of Wellness Diary. Without giving any promises related to your specific question, there will be exiting application areas where Wellness Diary can be used. Pls. stay tuned!

Hello @safdarmalik4262, Wellness Diary will also include step counter - and it is compatible with X6. Just wait for a while for the launch.

I really can't WAIT for this program for my lovely N8! Thank you for developing it :)
