Introducing Foursquare for Series 40

Foursquare is a popular location-based service that makes the places around you easier and more interesting to explore. Foursquare is already available on Ovi Store for S60 devices, and with this Foursquare for Series 40 application we give millions more people the opportunity to discover the exciting world of Foursquare.



This application is a mobile java-based application which works across a range of Nokia devices. We are targeting Ovi Store and seeking feedback on the application. Especially, we are interested in what are the features and functionality that you would like to see and how the application works on different device models and in different countries.

Would it be so hard to develop a FourSquare application for the N900 as well? I know the N900 is pretty much unsupported by Nokia, but still! :(

I believe we count on the developers out there to implement one. This application is mobile java based, which is not supported on N900.

I understand that developers are really important in N900's existence, but unfortunately there never was a reliable FourSquare application for the N900. And the one that exists, BarrioSquare is pretty much abandoned. It's source-code is FREE so anyone could update it and make it better.

Why couldn't Nokia Beta Labs do just that?

The map is not getting loaded in the new s40 foursquare app in my nokia 2700 classic.. tried several times.. :(

I've just installed the app on my C3-00, and I am not able to get the map when I try to look for places, and also I am getting the search screen for the Bluetooth when I go to check-in, and does not find any place, even though this model is supposed to have GPS-A. In addition, I used the decond process to get the app, because the first did not work for me, I was unable to connect using that link posted on the web site. I would appreciate some help.

I installed this application in my 3120 classic, and i'm unable to check-in with this application. It shows a kind of error message. And my shouts doesn't appear in the timeline. I think this application still contains many bugs. So, please fix them.

I only miss the list of my previous check-ins, mayorships and badges and the option for fast check-in in a venue where a friend has checked-in ("check-in here" or sth?). Otherwise GREAT! :)

Thanks for the comments; hopefully some of the issues have been fixed with the updates. If you continue to have issues, post those to the Foursquare for Series 40 discussion forum.

the application still cant work on the nokia E5. It's having some problems finding out the locations. And I would like to ask if you could make it run on edge and not 3G all the time? Thanks.

i ve downloaaded foursquare to my c3 nokia phone. after downloading it does not register. it does not even connect to the ovi store.

it has a lot of bugs in the connection and the interface is useful but very basic
