how do I upgrade from the beta version? OVI shows already installed

Ovi Store says 'this item is not available for the Nokia C5-03'. Beta version works well though. Could you please correct that or clarify?

Ovi Store says 'this item is not available for the Nokia 5230'. Whats up with that????

Please distribute this update in the SW update app on our phones. What's the use of that app then? I personally would get this newer version through the SW update app. Please publish it on your update servers. Another benefit is that it will have a broader target devices. Mark it as a recommended update category. :)

I too see Ovi Store telling me this is not available for the 5230.

Now it says, not available for my country (I'm in the US)

How am I supposed to update Ovi Maps? The Ovi Store doesn't let me download the latest version because I already have an older version. There is just OPEN button available.

@Everyone Try opening Ovi Store in Native browser- store.ovi.com and download from that. It worked for me.

Are you sure it is not April Fool???(its on 1st April) .. And if it is true then its a Gr8 news and finally we will have something New to keep our Brain involved.. I was really bored with this Beta version which lasted more than 7 months I guess.. and later on it was seriously getting boring. Hope there is something New and Useful in the final version and and BIG Hope they have Not chucked out the most useful things from 3.6 Beta. I am practically getting scared to open it.

1. The new version has still one error: Sometimes Maps shows to the "right" but speaks "go left".

Just curious, do you think that everyone will sell the Nokia phone they have now for a N97 or whatever is the newest model you have for sale. No; we will sell our Nokia's and buy an Iphone, or an android based phone if you fail to listen to your customers...

I bought the E72 thinking it was the latest/greatest. Mmmmm you guys are dropping the ball.

Please advise when/ or if you will have an update for the e72.

We do BETA testing for them and when they release the FINAL version of OVI Maps what do they do? They DUMP us!!!! They probably think will go out and buy new devices? Never again nokia.....

With every relase it is the same, for some phones the download works, for some not.
But they never learnd about this, they make the mistake and do it again and again.
But we live in a computer world, we find a other way to download it and it maybe works for hour phones, OVi page is not all, we will find a way to download

but one small persistent problem :)

on the latest version from ovi store, v3.06 11wk10 b01, pressing the "update" button from the main menu, have no effect.

uninstalled/reinstalled many times, deleted the cities folder, but it's not working.

whilst ovi maps 3.06 seems to work fine on my nokia N8 the speed camera warnings are not good...some countries are dismantling their speed cameras while Australia is putting them everywhere...i drive around australia quite a bit and ovi maps misses quite a lot of speed cameras...would be a good idea to incorporate speed camera updates on the map server like garmin and tom tom....all red light cameras in australia are now being converted to speed saftey cameras.

I have 5800 XM with 3.06 Ovi Maps. To have enough memory for installation, I removed older Ovi and Nokia maps before ( and WhatsApp). After installation, I have installed whats again.

I tried to download at ovi store. First time it said "already installed". After several times trying dowload it again it worked! Maybe you have to search for updates and then try again via ovi store. With Nokia N8 it worked.

But Fm transmitter still doesn t work:-(

I'm a bit annoyed at the software team for wasting my valuable time trying to determine why one of the most important features of 3.06 is not working on my 5800XM. Why is it that after days and many hours I find out that the reason the update icon no longer works is that there is a bug in the 3.06 software.

1) Please add a simple way to navigate to contacts of the phone!
2) Installing and updating Maps without wasting space on C drive!

I hope you will increase the volume of the voice with streetnames some day. The German one is just useless - for more than 1,5 years now.

I love this version of Maps and it has some very neat features. It's a shame though that I can't keep it installed as it then leaves me with 5mb free on my C:/ drive, and STILL can't be installed on E:/ or F:/.

I really wish this could be sorted out as my N97 (original) could be such a good phone.

Stuck on version 3.04 until the next firmware update (so probably forever, sigh...)

I am very happy that the beta labs constantly preparing great new applications. but nokiamaps 3.06 symbian3 apparatus for N8-00 and newer. is causing the error when you connect your device in your car via BT Nokia CK-7W, or other BT headsets as BH-103 ... to hear only the voice of navigating through mobilphone and not through or the BT handsfree carkit. Therefore, for me poor use Nokia Maps for navigation in the car radio turned on and riding a motorcycle helmet when using BT. the old devices such as Nokia and C6-00 X6 everything worked well through the BT (Bluetooth)
I would be glad if this problem resolved as soon as possible, because otherwise I do not use it to force nokiamaps

Thanks for the new version. Works great. Where can we post on items for the next version. I have some requests:

1. When in just drive mode, can you please add a speed indication there?
2. ANd when doing a route, why cant one scroll and zoom in on the route freely, you can go through the route I know. But I want be able to freely zoom and scroll the route. I live in S.A. and one should always check the route before the driving it, not always safe here you know.

Released Version 3.06 crashes more than the beta before. (X5800) When other apps are open (eg WD), a crash is really normal. Also the message, less memory, please close...

i have a N8 with the last update of OVI MAPS, my problem is i don't like use the maps with internet
so I put the phone in OFFLINE mode but now the phone can not connect with the OFFLINE mode is looking for position

Something dosnt work with my phone, I cant update to de version v3.06 (11wk10 b01). I have already the 3.06 (10wk46 b01) and when I try to instal this updated version or the beta 3.07 the system shows instalation error, so I try to fix it but I dont know how to do it, please help or tel me what to do, 'cause i realy like this app.

the error code from de ovi suit program is: 17009

My C6-01 restarts very often when using maps. I am quite dissapointed, because the main reason I bought the phone is the ovi navigation - it is not usable fo me.

I am posting here cause after several emails I've sent to the Nokia Contact centers in Milan, in the U.K. and also to the headquarter in Finland none of them has been able to provide a meaningful answer to my complaint.

So here's the deal:

I bought the brand new Nokia E7 on may 25th 2011 at € 449,99 which is not a small price at all. I bought it cause Nokia promoted so much its amazing features, which in fact it does have, but unfortunately there are TWO MAJOR SOFTWARE MISTAKES:

1)The Ovi Maps guiding voice comes out from the smartphone speakerphone even if the blutooth headset is connected which is definitely unforgivable of Nokia softwares project managers. I checked a few forums (included the Nokia forum) and I found out it’s not just my phone malfunctioning, but it is a Symbian 3 lack. In fact I’ve read that all people who bought a E7, an N8 and a C7 have the same issue. Do you realize the trouble Nokia is causing with that mistake? It means voice guidance cannot be heard loud and clear through the speakerphone cause of the traffic and car noise. If you drive on a motorway at a range between kmh 80 and 130, it’s impossible to hear the guidance voice even if the car radio is turned off.
With the blutooth headset, on my previous 5800, X6 and C6 I could hear the guidance voice loud & clear even if the car radio was on and pretty loud. In fact in my previous Nokias 5800, X6 and C6 the voice guidance came out from the bluetooth headset when connected and not from the speakerphone. On the E7 Ovi Maps voice guidance can be heard only through WIRED headset or speakerphone. Why in the hell is Nokia going backwards in software engineering instead of moving forward? Moreover Nokia created a lot of perfectly functioning blutooth headsets which are a huge convenience and which I consider a big step forward and now Nokia is forcing me to go back in time technologically speaking and use the very uncomfortable wired headset again? A few days ago I bought the application Sygic maps for € 29,99 from the Ovi Store and I found out the guidance voice on that software comes out from my Bluetooth headset which means it was not my E7 or my Bluetooth headset malfunctioning, but it was actually Ovi Maps. It's just absurd I had to pay extra money on a new maps apllication when Nokia gives Ovi Maps for free just to have what it was already on previous smartphones.

2) The second lack I found in the Symbian 3 was that in the contacts list all the phone details labels cannot be edited as they used to be in all previous phones. Which means that I cannot specify when a phone number of the same contact is chinese or italian or british or else. I'll write an example: if you select "add detail" and choose, for example, "Telephone (business)" in the previous models (5800, X6, C6) you could edit the word "business" inside the round brackets and change it to "Chinese number" for example. On the E7 you CANNOT do that. On the E7 I have to create a new contact for each phone number if they are from different countries and it's not practical at all.

So the question is: why in the hell Nokia programming engineers cancelled two important and well functioning features like those instead of keeping and improving them? Next time Nokia hires an external firm to verify why Apple and HTC are getting more of Nokia market share, let them read my complaint and hopefully they will get it without spending big money. Regarding these two major issues I have already notified the Nokia European Contact Centers in the UK and in Milan, but they both gave me very stupid answers like: “We would like to suggest you contact the point of purchase and request for a replacement device of different model since the feature is not supported by the phone which is very essential for you. We are sorry to inform you that we are unable to provide you information about the next software update and also about the assurance that an update will fix the issue because it could be a hardware which could not support or is not compatible for a voice guidance feature for a bluetooth headset output as we do not have as well the feedback from the Technical Experts”

What I replied was: “The law doesn't allow anybody to replace a purchase after 30 days even if the purchase was online and they should know that. On top of that the replacement could only be done if the device was defective and not in this case when the Symbian 3 came out with a major lack and even if they replaced it, what model you would suggest they did it with? N8? C7 maybe? Those come all with Symbian 3 so the issue is also in their softwares. And I fairly hope you were not suggesting they replaced it with an older model like a N97 or something cause it would be very stupid of you to be suggesting that. I spent € 459,99 on a brand new device and I should go back to a 2 year old model in order to have a functioning feature?”

And the extremely stupid answers I got from the UK contact center was the main reason I decided to send an email straight to a Nokia vice-president like yourself from its headquarter in Finland, hoping Nokia would give a better answer like for example “We are sorry. You are right. It was a mistake. We’ll fix that in no time and release an upgrade in a week”.

I here formally urge Nokia to release immediately an update to fill that huge forgetfulness or I will never buy Nokia again and I will spread the word to all my thousands contacts from all the social networks and consumers associations I'm in since I'm a lawyer.

I would recommend you to throw out all the social junks that comes with 3.06, once done, it is not more hungry than 3.03.
