Introducing Nokia Drop. Push links and photos to your phone.

Written by Päivi, Nokia Drop team

We invite you to try Nokia Drop beta, a simple and straightforward way to push content to device for Symbian^3 and S60 5th Edition phones. We proudly presents these first three feature: change your phone's homescreen wallpaper, send a picture to your phone, and send an interesting link to your phone, for example so that you can read an article on your phone without writing the long and difficult web address.

Let's take a deeper look at changing your wallpaper. Have you ever notice how many clicks you need to do before you have changed your wallpaper? And if you see nice picture on a web site which you want to have as a wallpaper, it takes quite a long flow to have it as a wallpaper.

But now, thanks to Push Notifications and the Nokia Drop application, it's very easy to do this. With the Nokia Drop application installed on your phone and our browser extension installed to your browser, you can now send wallpapers from public websites easily to your device. All this happens without Bluetooth or cable connection or syncing. At least I realized that I have never changed my homescreen wallpapers as often as I do now.

This technical solution provides huge opportunities to add different kind of  content to your device. So stay tuned, there will be more.  In the meanwhile we’d highly appreciate your feedback concerning this first feature set.

And as we are now launching this application to wider audience I also want to thank those that have contributed to the design, development, and feedback thus far.

nice applctn

When I read the header I thought (was hoping) it to be a app for Dropbox.. But unfortunately.. ;(
App looks cool though, but how relevant is it to change the background like this, not something I want to do on a daily basis (neither weekly nor monthly), anyhow the link option looks cool.

But I'm still waiting for a dropbox sync tool, that automatically fetches files from one of my specified dropbox folders. (There's dropian and dropper, but both are only access, no sync).

its an amazing peace of work guys !!!
i installed at my C7,and it works perfect :)

as i said in the Topic,or forum,i realy hope you will continieu more aplications like this.

and i heard this 2011 Nokia will bring over 30 new phones.
One thing i hope, wich is for everybody diffrent of course..but i work an lot with the C7,and the only missing thing for me,is the Xenon Flash, and Carl Zeis lense...for an this level phone.

No,i didnt choose the N8,because of this better C7 ( for me ).

And i hope the ULTIMATE Nokia for me,will come in this year, coz besides i use so many aplications at it..i hope there will be an similair,or even better Nokia coming out, with the Carl Zeis, and Zenon Flash.

even though i use for the night,or close up,still my Nokia N82,besides my Nokia C7.

keep up the good work you guys..preciate very much !!!

Really nice, well done!
Just one thing; how does my browser know which of the phones, which are online with nokia drop is mine?

@LS-empire - Both the phone app and browser plug-in are tied to your Nokia Account.
