Hi all,
I work with the Ovi Maps team and will be taking over from Kee. This week we are launching Ovi Maps 3.07 Beta - on the heels of the 3.06 graduation! Ovi Maps 3.07 Beta is available for all Symbian^3 devices: N8, E7, C7, C6-01, E6, X7.
One of the biggest changes you’ll see is that we have removed the application menu to Map, Navigation, Check in and Local content. We did this for quick and easy access to the apps you want. What do you think about it? If you have an opinion and a minute, take this survey let us know what you think!
Best,
Rebekah

Nice one ovi!
that sounds cool...anyways have to try it out...!!!
Good job ovi!
Good
It could be good for someone, but I prefer the option of having single app with further choices inside of it.
I already have problems with free spaces in home screen widgets for my apps. If I will have to reserve another 4-5 just for maps it would be a con (-) for me.
Don't have S^3 device so can't check it but still all the best to Ovi Maps Team. It was good experience testing Ovi maps in beta labs, finding bugs and making suggestions. At the end, 3.06 turned into a good productive app. Thank you.
Regards
Ankit
The download pages does not appear to be working at the moment (does not appear in navigation header) and following direct link leads to a page asking for a sign in (regardless of whether you are signed in or not).
Same here. Can't download...
Where's the version for S60v5? @Nokia, Why don't you understand that you guys are not in a position to force obsolescence on your users anymore. You'll end up losing your marketshare even more.
Now be a good boy and provide an S60v5 version.
Same comment as ftakopysk, I prefer to have one app/icon to integrate all my map applications. Otherwise it means adding 4 or 5 icons to the home pages,
is the installing now on E:/, to save Diskspace on C:/
Our apologies if there were any issues on the site when you were trying to download the new Ovi Maps. Things seems to be in order now.

thanks, but i can download right now, i got N97
Welcome Rebekah, sad to see Kee go but nice to see someone new.
I like the new maps btw. so fast, and easy to use!
(I've always wanted a drive button in a widget)
Nokia N8 FW 014.002.02.01
I have a bug . After I have installed Ovi maps 3.07 my phone freezes every time when I enter in Ovi maps after 15-20 seconds . Then he made an restart .
This story continues every time after 15-20 seconds when I enter in Ovi maps .
Nokia N8 FW 014.002.04.01
Qt ver 4.7.3
Maps are fast and responsive, but...a big but..
Please leave an option for the Grid Menu.. I prefer the old menu..
3.07 is far too fragmented...
hi folks,
I just tried it now and found it is quite good, and up to now I couldn't see the promissed lane indicator, like they're used on garmin, tomtom, and others, and the big but, which I'm now missing is that this system cannot be stopped connecting to the internet, as it's a navigation and not a webtool like googel maps, as in the homeland the connections also cost a bit, but in foreign countries you gotta pay a lot for the internet connections(roaming costs) and this point is not realized, i.e. no menue point of disconnection to the web, the only exception is when you change to the offline mode - but then you can't use the phone anymore; please change it as otherwise, with the above mentioned lane indicator it could become a great stuff.
If not now, how soon ?
a ) with an OviMap on the screen, can you plug the phone on a TV or projector and get full image ?
b ) can you video-chat ( also ) on Google or Skype , etc., while on the map ?
c ) use it as a modem ? with Wi-Fi and cellular?
I have found it much easier to use than the the past maps, much faster to load and find places,
Has ovi maps thought of voice activated instead of typing in where you want to go...
you could speak the address while driving your car...
If you dont have a symbian3 device, you have to buy one because the support of v5 is nearly stop.
Can we have a version for e71 users too please? I think it is too good a phone to do a random upgrade to e72 and i do not appreciate the touch screen phones.
map 3.07 is amazing.thank you nokia and ovi.

please o please bring back the old menu..
I prefer 3.06 any day ... this is a huge step back.
...but i guess, if you are adapting to the Os for simpeltons aka 'windows phone' i guess you have to do like them. Remove almost every useful feature, for speed. What is the use of a fast program, if its not useful?
hi there. I also prefer one button for the app and more options inside. But i understand some people want it separate from the start. So why wouldn't you simply let the choice to user when installing and maybe even after install like a configuration choice...
Why there is no version for s60v5? Is there any chance it will be released for it? Finally it seems there is a thing I wanted the most on ovi maps - free view of planned route (or am I wrong?)... and I can't use it on my nokia 5800!!! :-(((
I think next version should install in memory card, because I used Nokia 5230 and it have small phone memory.
;-(
its great
Hi folks from the nokia labs,
the new ovi maps work quite well, and the l a r g e s t a n o y a n c e
when drivin is thef**** screen which always wants to connect to the net and create a memory pint, what the hell is that, is it a navigation system, or do you want to get rid off your customers, as it always interferes when drving to connect to the net, and that is not an internet program, it is said to be an navigation system, so please put there an menue point, where the people can choose whether using " G P S " or "A - G P S", which consumes a lot of megabytes when driving longdistances, and doesn't really is helpful, only for the provider, as it's pulling your expenses for the phoneprovider.
And the other problem is, you cannot synchronize it with your ovi-net system, where you got your favourites and route, and therefore I'll be deliting it now, and wait for the final.
If the final is still annoying with getting connection to the net, then, it won't be long installed, and replaced by another better navaigation system which really works also only on " standalone - G P S".
That was it folks, so hurry up changing that for the final as otherwise ovi won't have a long future in europe as the roaming expenses are here quite costly!!!!!!!!!!!!
:-( ;-( :-(
Same comment as ftakopysk and cougar-725, I prefer to have one app/icon to integrate all my map applications.
I dislike the Homescreen Menu. Maps now takes the space of four apps on the screen. I would prefer the old style (menu within application), it should not be too difficult to make this configurable so the user can choose his style. As long as the N8 has only 3 screens I have to be conservative about the space.
* N8 * N82 * 6230 * 8250 * all still working
Distinti saluti.

Why would you people not allow to download the updated OVI maps from internet and give the option of only updating via wifi? Now a days internet is cheap and i would have been happy to download 500 MB of data from internet without connecting to internet using computer.
Also will the wifi download of the maps a resumable download?

I prefer the 3.06 version. Works very well. Don't like that navigation takes up space for 4 app's on the screen. Makes no sense to how I use OviMap oon an almost daily basis.. Furthermore my phone, E7, froze last time I was using the search function.
why does Map still shows up in other task manager as running when I exit map.
memory hogging?
Can't download either.
ovi maps v3.06 was the only reason to keep my nokia device. The fact that nothing seems to work with my nokia 5800 anymore, not even apps downloaded from ovistore!!! Is the reason I am turning my back to you.
Update version applicaion and browser
nokia asha 303
thank you.
