Video: Latest beta release of Nokia Browser for Series 40
Mon, 2011-07-18 09:29In case you missed it, Ovi Browser is now Nokia Browser for Series 40. Not only that, there are a number of improvements in the latest beta release:
- Keep browsing while your downloads continue in the background with the improved download manager. Control when you want to download through pause/resume and open downloaded files directly with one click.
- Share any page directly on Facebook and Twitter with one click using our new browser toolbar. The toolbar also helps you view foreign web sites through a useful translation feature. Plus more toolbar features will be coming in future updates.
- Long press an image to save it to your phone for offline viewing or use as wallpaper.
- The combined address and search bar makes browsing and searching even easier
- Localized start page for South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Vietnam, Pakistan (and more coming soon!)
If you have a compatible Series 40 phone, check it out from Ovi Store. And once you do, drop some feedback to the team either in their forum or through the browser itself (Menu->Feedback).

I think the toolbar would be a great feature for the Nokia C3-00, except it doesn't work on it. Or maybe I just can't find it...
why only 40.? Why not s60v5.???
S60 has already a browser included, while S40 had to use Opera Mini.
By the way, Opera can be used also on S60.
i find the new s 40 browser not as useful - from the video trial - as opera mini. i want to say something about the bloob drag thingy. its only a pushed out drop-menu with attributes of visual callout. the same idea has arrivedin our second c3. the first c3 was intuitive to start then you dropped the simple button start putting in a swipe, clever but not ber. same about drop-bloob. clever but not senible. the tools are only novel, thy arent needed. the icon-tranlatuseful
the nokia s60 and s^3 browsers really need a lot of improvement...even the latest one i.e. 7.3 is not good enough to match android browsers
it would be super cool if nokia beta labs and mozilla got together and developed firefox for symbian! :D
