Submit your app ideas in two IdeasProject challenges

Two ideas campaigns are now open at our sister site, IdeasProject, for another month or so.  In both challenges the chosen ideas will be developed into real applications and the ideators will receive a Nokia phone.  Read on for details.

Create4Millions

Create 4 Millions

The challenge in Create4Millions is to identify an idea for an application that would add value and depth to peoples' lives, especially those in emerging growth economies.  App ideas should fall into one of three categories: Health and Education, Social Netowrking and Location, or Games and Infotainment.

The three best ideators will be invited to Nokia World in London in October 2011, will get to see their ideas made into real apps by professional developers, and will receive a new Nokia dual SIM device.

The deadline for ideas is September 20, 2011.  And by the way, even if you don't submit an original idea you're welcome to vote and comment on others' ideas.

If you're a developer, also check out the Create for Millions contest in which you can win cash prizes and promotion for your developed Series 40 Java or web app.  The deadline for that has been extended to November 1, 2011.

Apps to empower women

The second ongoing challenge is to identify ideas for mobile applications that can help women in work, education, and leisure.  There are no set categories, but ideas could be related to time management, education, giving women a voice, providing women with new ways to connect with each other, or leveraging social networking to find work.

The best ideator will receive a a Nokia phone of their choice and will see their idea developed into a real app by a team of women software developers and posted in Ovi Store.

The deadline for ideas in the Apps to empower women challenge is September 30, 2011.  Here too you can vote and comment to others' ideas even if you don't submit your own.
