Thanks again for you valuable feedback and comments about Nokia Sleeping Screen! Here is a brief update about the latest release, version 0.55[9]. 

In this release we have some bug fixes, disk space optimizations, and enhancements in installation packages:

  • Nokia Sleeping Screen can now be installed on any drive. We recommend "Mass memory" so that it does not occupy valuable C: drive space.
  • User-created images are now compressed when saved to the installation drive. This too saves on disk space.
  • Added error texts in Settings UI if Qt Quick Components are missing or out-of-date.
  • Bug fixes in 2nd clock-only theme (the so-called "Tron clock" with blue animated rays)

Do you have to remove older version from C drive before installing new version to Mass memory, and if, how do you remove it from C drive?

sleeping screen is a wonderful app developed by You. At night travelling in a train co passengers were amazed at the beauty of the screen.Thanks.

No you don't necessarily need to deinstall the old version. This version can be installed on top of the old one and the app itself + preinstalled graphics will move to your new installation drive.

EDIT: Also the images created with earlier version are available in this version and should work.

However if you want to completely remove user generated images done with earlier NSS from C: you need to either:
1) delete those user created themes from NSS settings UI
2) deinstall the whole app manually before installing the new version.

This is a very nice app from Nokia. It would be awesome if we can put the user created images into something like a slideshow, similar to he built-in screens.

Sunlight visibility is almost nill, but I guess there isn't much to do about that.

If you mean selecting several images in one theme, that is already possible. Just pick up multiple images in "Add my own" screen, create a theme and they will become a selectable theme where the first image is used as the thumbnail in settings UI.

Even if I choose drive C:\ or E:\ it always install in drive F:\

First thanks for update and the option to remove NSS from C: drive. I've installed NSS to E: massmemory, and it works fine. But when I check details in program manager it shows that it is installed in F:(memory card). to check this I removed my memory card and saw that NSS still works, so it MUST be in E: drive! use N8 sw 022.014

There seems to be an issue with Application Manager showing where the application is installed. It looks like that info does not get updated correctly if you re-install the app somewhere else.

Anyway you can check where the Nokia Sleeping Screen is installed from the Settings->Themes->Screen saver menu. If Sleeping Screen is installed on Mass Memory or Memory Card there is a symbol behind "Sleeping Screen" title, either a "disk drive"-symbol which looks like a 'coffee cup' :) or a "memory card" symbol. If there is no symbol it is installed on C: Hope that helps to clarify where it is finally located.

Cannot install it at all, both on C or E. Removed everything, restarted but I get a cancelling installation and then "To continue this installation later, select this icon in your application menu" (the smart installer). i did that, it looks installed but it's not in the settings anymore.

unfortunately my phone is in repair at the moment,(aparrantly it cannot withstand a full cup of cofee w/o the lock slider to start malfunction :-) , i cant wait to test the latest improvements.

Excellent.. and fantastic app.. a must haver.
Now, with the Mass Memory installation, we can have additional space on C: for important apps. Thanks very much.

all the new applications that are developed are for symbian^3 what about symbian^1 devices..........
not a single app. for it...
nokia is not paying attention to thier customers and that is why they are loosing market share in high end segment...
i have a c6-00 and a samsung GALAXY ACE, both i have bought for nearly same price.. but i am highly dissatisfied with nokia c6 ,
two times in 7 months it has been replaced
not a single app. is comparable to galaxy's apps.
i am a nokia lover,but nokia has broken the trust
in future i fear to try a nokia product... really unhappy :(

hi, nss is really a great app. Makes the n8 somewhat special.
But i have question: if the red clock is activated it seems the background is not completly dark and it flickers. Was this a pre-Anna issue? (that had been fixed before Anna???) You need a dark room and held it close to your eyes to see it very intense.

Hi, if I tap on the screen before the app loads completely, it starts the program in the background. It kinda seems at a glance that the app won't start (which it does!).

Unfortunately, Sleeping Screen works only with AMOLED screens, it would consume too much battery on other screens like 5800's.

Hic, I can't Install it. After I update to Anna (N8 ) Official, I install, fisrt I look it show replace version 1.0 with 0.55(9). I cancel it. After sometime, I Install and Continue with that message. But when it go to Preparing Installation, I hear a "beep" and after about 15 second, it shows Installation Error without any info. Please help. I re-install many time, it not show replace version, but error again and again. Check nothing in Themes.

if i do that my phone restart again and sleeping screen still there

otter apps removing works fine no problems

only sleeping screen give problems by trying to removing
