And we have results
Fri, 2011-10-21 14:34My month of testing Wellness Diary is now drawing to a close, let's see what has happened!
First of all, let's say it has been hectic. I haven't been able to stick to all of the good plans I had, but there are some silver linings here.
I took the reminders into use: For food, the application asks me each night what I ate and how much. I find that even the fact that I'm monitoring something like this, has an effect on my choices. It's easier to go for the full plate of salad knowing that it counts.
I also set up the reminder for exercise - just not in the evening. Around 6 pm, on my planned days, Wellness Diary pops up and prompts me to enter my exercise. If I have nothing to add, taking a walk to the riverside usually helps. It really is something like having a friend you have promised to do something with. It's the tiny moral support that's needed to go the extra mile.
Results? Better sleep and better stress control. As I said earlier on, it has been hectic and at times, tough. I'm coping better and displaying a lot more patience than before. Also, surprisingly enough, the sugar cravings are pretty much gone. So much so, that I removed the sweets monitor altogether - it was empty anyway. However, that's just not enough for me.
What's next? I'll try something harder. I'll try and make the exercise a daily habit. I'm going to use the reminders every day, and take this advice. This is not a short project, I realise, but it's one I want to do. Also, this should keep my Wellness Diary on the green, all the time.
How has it been for you?
