Whatever you do, remember to eat your veggies
Fri, 2011-12-16 16:06Written by Eeva, Nokia Wellness Diary team

Mom was right back then when she made us eat our veggies. Now she’s backed by scientists. The American Centre for Disease Control (CDC) has a whole page dedicated to the idea.
Fruit and vegetables have long been recognised to help our health, and for lots of reasons. They have both physical and mental benefits: They fill you up with fewer calories, so you might end up eating less of more energy-rich foods. This way they can help your weight management goals. They give you loads of excellent nutrients, such as vitamins, flavonoids, fibre and antioxidants. Not only they help your body recover, but also cope with continuous stress and help fight off minor illnesses such as the seasonal flu. As a bonus, they also taste good!
On the mental side, eating more fruit and veg can help you stay strong in your resolutions of healthier living. Keeping promises to yourself makes you feel better about yourself and strengthens the healthy habits that you’ve managed to create with Wellness Diary. Also, after indulging in the holiday eating, something fresh and juicy will feel very good indeed. Moreover, feeling better about yourself can lift your spirits even more.
Oh yeah, and it might keep mom off your back.

OK, I know that the original logo of Nokia was a fish.... but could you please move all this food/health blog-threads to a relevant forum and stop spamming this technical forum with it? I'm not judging of the quality of the blogs in any way - but they are by far out of topic for the BetaLabs-site, and should thus be posted elsewhere.
(It is fine and on topic that you write about the app Wellness Diary of course)
Thanks in advance. :)

Surely you should be reminded about eating your veg?? it's just so! relevent to developing apps?
@EskeRahn, sorry that you feel we're spamming a tech forum. However, Wellness Diary is still in Beta with BetaLabs, and we also have users here who we try to cater to. Hopefully we'll get a different forum just for this app soon, so patience please.
@CanarianWind, veggies make you smarter too ;)
@EskeRahn - Nokia Beta Labs is meant for interaction among lead users of the apps/software/services currently in a trial. Although most of the discussions tend to be on the technical side (bugs and features), it's also important for teams to discuss and understand all other aspects of using their product. This is a good example of one of those exceptions.

I don't see how Eeva getting on our backs instead of our mums in attempting to persuade us to eat more vegetables have anything what so ever to do with BetaLabs. Could you please explain how ??
If Eeva had asked for or offered suggestions for how the application could be used or improved to make people eat more vegetables, it would have been an entirely different and relevant blog, but this is not what is being blogged...
The mere preaching on the subject (no matter how good the cause) can only be categorized as spam in this forum. But could be a very relevant blog in another forum. So please don't misunderstand: I'm not criticizing the content of the blog, it is merely posted in the wrong forum...
It would be just as irrelevant as if the Maps-group blogged on the preservation of the Iberian Lynx just because the maps cover Spain... ;-)

welll I agree with EskeRahn....but yes even the point by e-star,CanarianWind and markow76....we need to be liberal with all applications..as its a part of interaction based on the Wellness application.... so lets maintain the decorum....
Spread love .....Spread Happiness...
lets help in giving good feedback to Nokia and the members of this blog rather arguing...
Peace...

Hi EskeRahn,
The connection between Wellness Diary (an application within the BetaLabs) and eating vegetables is that Wellness Diary is a tool for the users to create healthy habits for themselves - one of which is this vegetables-and-fruits thing. That's the reason why I blogged about it in the first place.
Wellness Diary has a philosophy of self-monitoring behind it: monitor the amounts of foods, drinks, exercise and what have you, become more aware of the thing you monitor, and change your habits that relate to the monitored thing. This has been covered in the previous posts, so I did not think it necessary to repeat the thought here.
Again, I'm sorry that you feel this is the wrong place to talk about it. We're working on the next version, which hopefully will be a real launch and will not be a part of BetaLabs any longer, and would give Wellness Diary a new forum to talk about these things. However, we do not have that space yet. I have raised this topic with the communications people behind Wellness Diary, and they are working on it. Hopefully I won't be spamming your forum much longer.
Cheerful holidays and a happy New Year to all!

Кира, можно уточнить?'Красиво' что?
This is the only place they can put this info in for the beta. The app is making me feel better about my habits and these tips add to the experience. So far, good work beta team!
