Weather widgets for Symbian Belle now available

I scream, you scream, we all scream for a Weather widget!

Fans of the Nokia Weather app (released earlier as part of Nokia Maps Suite) have been begging and pleading since day one for the release of a connected widget, and today they will have Beta-level satisfaction.

A Weather widget for Symbian Belle is now available from Nokia Beta Labs. If you haven't already updated to Nokia Maps Suite 2.0, you will need to make a detour to join that trial in order to get the full benefits. The widget is not fully compatible with the old version of Weather.

There are two homescreen widgets. One shows a three-day forecast and the other shows the current hourly weather. By default, the widget will show you the weather right where you are, but you can configure it to show the weather in any city you like. I have a full page of Weather widgets on my N8!

When you tap on the widget, it will jump into the Weather app,  where you can get more details. The Weather app always remembers whether you were looking at the detail or overview page, so which page it open onto depends on which page you were looking at last.

of e6 does not work, after installing and restarting the phone nothing happens, you do not find it anywhere.

Excellent job. It was worth to wait for a nice built app, even if it comes on beta experience I'll be waiting to be upgraded to Nokia Store.

Hi guys. The widget is beautifully done! Found out that the temperature displayed doesn't match with the one in the app itself. Anyway, sadly, the weather servers used in the app (and of course in the widget) doesn't match at all with my location's weather and forecast, checked with my National Weather Service. :(

I'm so sorry that you guys forgot all s60v5 users, that's a simple thing that should be in all devices.
Seems Nokia abandoned us, i'm sad for that.

Hi,finally an application for the weather! This application works but I would like to report a problem. Sometimes the application crashes and I have to reboot the phone to make it work.
I also want to expose my idea to you software developers.
The icons in my opinion should be done better.
For example, if you expect cloudy, you should see only a cloud, if you expect rain should see a cloud with rain, lightning-cloud with lightning,and cloud with a snow if forecasters say snow. There is no distinction between day and night because the sun always appears in the icon, then I think the sun icon should appear only from 6 am until 6 pm, automatically change the icon with the moon from 6 pm at 6 am.

The sun always shinning. Why not only clouds,rain, snow, depending the weather conditions? And at night? Why not the moon?
If the aplication do that why not the widget? Its a way to make HTC stop laughing...

This widget is a nice try, but nothing new since i had this on my old windows mobile phone in 2008...Belle is great, N8 is great but Nokia very slow to give some usefull stuff, and the widget is draining my battery like hell! The N8 won't last 1 day with it. Thank you Nokia anyway.
