Nokia Drop Beta trial has ended

Behalf of Nokia Drop team, I just want to thank all of you BetaLabs users who have given a lot of good ideas, reported bugs and gave a huge amount of feedback during this interesting journey. During this amazing path we have been able to release new features, found some very important bugs with your help and made the application more visible to consumers and also promote usage of Nokia Push Notifications.

But every story has an end and now we have reach the end of Nokia Drop BetaLabs story. Hopefully you have enjoyed this trip with Nokia Drop.

So cheers to all of you and be active with other Beta Labs applications and all the best to the future!

[Edit 2012-08-09] Note: that service is still running, new extension versions are coming soon to Chrome Store and Firefox add-ons. Client is now delivered part of Nokia Push Notifications enabler and you can get it for example downloading CNN application from Nokia Store or downloading eBuddy XMS from BetaLabs.

So will there be a final version for the nokia store or will the development stop completely? Because as the browsers receive update after update I am afraid that the browser add-on will stop working (as it does with Firefox 14.0.1) in near future, which leaves this great app useless. I hope to see a final version soon in the store because it is a quality app I would miss.

it means that we are not closing the service only Beta trial. Extension fixies are coming soon.

Thank you very much for this great app; it definetly made our Symbian devices a lot better and gave us a nice user experience. Cheers to all the team members and good luck in all your future projects.

guys, why all the negativity? The trial has ended, which means the app has graduated (wish Betalabs had used that word in the announcement). As commented by paivi.leinonen above, the service is running, new browser extensions will be available soon and if you need to install in future, it will be done with any app that supports notifications. (example quoted CNN)

As Paivi said, download CNN from Store and it will be included with that download. :)

I can't connect Nokia drop client since yesterday...it just says "connecting..." forever, normally it must show "connected" in the end then we can start dropping. Something is wrong ??? Anyone have the same problem?

I too would like to know if this service will work for new installations. On the subject of installations, from where can I download Nokia Drop for my 808 and the browser plugins?

On my 701, but Nokia Drop is an eternity starts connecting, why? They could not have completed a service that is not free of silly mistakes like this. Correct this!!

Phone app never connects, it just sits there displaying "Connecting...". Can't use Drop any more :(

So I guess this means that Nokia have turned off the service?

The vague official word seems to suggest that Drop is the technology behind the CNN popups that work on my phone, but they're not allowing us to send from our browsers any more?

Can someone from Nokia maybe confirm this before I waste any more time staring at a Connecting... message?
