The Nokia PC Suite team, who is now piloting the new feature Communication Center through Beta Labs, is very much impressed by your passion to test their stuff and contributing your thoughts. They asked me to thank you, on their behalf, for your overwhelmingly abundant feedback!!
Here are some concrete examples about what they have appreciated the most:
—-
A. Most inventive
By Sergey Zak:
This is simply indispensable to those of us who only use N-series PC Suite.
BUT a couple of feature wishes :
1. Please make it minimize to the System Tray.
2. Please show baloons from the tray when SMS/MMS received/failed/sent etc.
3. Allow replies/forwards from the hyperlinks in the baloons.
4. Detect and smartly sync the content.
More visions here.
Good luck! and thank you for twin resurrection
B. Best suggestions
By C Perera:
Calling functionality.
Might seem stupid, but If i’ve got my phone on a docking station, I really don’t wanna fiddle with the phone. If there is an incoming call, have a skype like popup with answer, reject, send sms. If answer is clicked, pick up the call, and switch phone to loudspeaker. Perhaps have an option to use computer speakers/mic.
And by Alex:
Somebody tell me please plz, is there any CONTACT GROUP support added in this version?
Let’s see if this stuff gets implemented
Ask, and ye shall receive. We just updated Nokia Communication Center, addressing many of the issues you raised:
- Lot’s of stability and performance fixes
- Contact names can be shown for messages
Also, we raised the bug-o-meter status to yellow:

Thanks for your valuable feedback!!

After successful Text Messenger beta pilot (also updated today), the team behind Nokia PC Suite got all excited about co-creating stuff together with you here at Beta Labs. Today, they released a sneak preview of the new simplified concept for managing messages and contacts in Nokia PC Suite. For the beta trial period, we call the concept Nokia Communication Center. Depending on your feedback during the beta trial, this will be soon integrated as part of standard Nokia PC Suite.
Download Nokia Communication Center here.

Key features:
- Create and send messages easily
- Receive, view, forward, and reply to messages as they arrive
- Compose multimedia messages effortlessly with easy access to the images on both PC and device
- Manage messages, and sort and group them to quickly find what you are looking for
- Display all your messages in a timeline

What do you think about the concept?
Also, feel free to report any bugs you might bump into. You can contribute by sharing your thoughts at the comments section of this post, or privately using the feedback form.
(note to self: we really need to improve our feedback systems. More about this later.)
Nokia is collecting feedback about our PC software, including the normal PC Suite and Nseries PC Suite. They asked me to promote the survey here, as they have noticed Beta Labs readers to have really valuable things to say.
