Went out after work (c.13:05 GMT) adn started Noia Sports Tracker as usual only to be faced with Update Available NST 2.05. Woohoo!!

Well installed it and after using NST 1.82 for a while on my N95 8Gb the GUI looks very similar. The Live and GPS icons are smaller and I am used to the maps. Ran the first 12km before I realised that I had not heard a peep out of it (I record a route and re-run using Auto Lap set to 500m and target set to by besb previous time). I removed the phone frm my pocket in the sleeve of my running top to see that it still said Autopause (i have this set to on and the slowest speed available). A couple of seconds after I had slid my phone open to check NST the screen updated and showed my correct dictance. I slid the phone closed again and re pocketed it and repaeted the process a few more times. Each time the screen would displcay teh same information as it had when I had closed the phone when re-opened and refreshed after a couple of seconds. Towards the end of my run I had my phone open whilst passing through a 500m marker and it beeped (I have NSt set to sound only for the lap indicator. I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but it is frustrating. I am used to NST providing the "Lap" indicator sound whilst my phone is closed and 2.05 (on my phone) only sounds when the phone is slid open and not on the low power mode (screensaver etc.) Also I may be wrong, but it seems to be more power hungry aswell as I only ran 14.5km so was out for c. 1.5 hrs and my phone went from c.50% power to threatening to power off.

On completion of the workout when I pressed stop I did notice a new Workout Summary screen pops up (nice!). The post workout summary and map screens appear similaer to those in v1.82 except the map downloading seems improved. Also teh maps state Nokia Navteq in the corner. An option to download area maps via the NST website and upload to your phone via PC link would be nice to save time. Need to go on the NST website now to see if there are any changes there.

Well done with the new version guys, but there may still be bugs.

Yes it works great the 2.05...but still miss the stepcounter built in like the ealy versions of it..the battery is the same for me ...have not notice that it drains faster..and now there is a possibility to use it in the 5800...well the version 1.83 was working good as well...

But i go to the earlier version again , since i want to use the step counter within and not use 2 applications, and that i do not like about the new versions like 1.82 and 2.05...give us it back ..

Another thing that i notice is that the Wellness Diary stopped working with the new version of 2.05..and NST and WD goes hand in hand at least for me ..cause i like the statistícs in Wellness Diary..

Might just affect older tracks but I uploaded a track made before the upgrade from 1.82 to 2.05 and its blank on the phone but a track made after the upgrade is still visible after uploading???

It seems the only way to update is via the app itself. It doesn't work for me though (N5800), it starts the download but fails.

I guess we need to wait for Tommi to announce this next week.

See my setup in my signature but I could not update through the app. I tried several times, changing permissions, rebooting, you name it. I then transferred the .sis from the website to my phone and still no go.

Finally, I backed up all my workout files and removed the app and all folders from my e61. Installation worked after that just fine. I replaced my workouts in the SportsTracker folder, entered my user name and paired it with the service.

Everything is as it should be now.

I'll submit a full review after a couple more workouts. Until then:

1) Perhaps recommend to everyone to back up their old workouts before attempting the upgrade.

2) You can download v2.05 for S60 v5.0 (5800) here: http://sportstracker.nokia.com/nts/mobile/downloadclient.do?p=50&hw=5369...

The above link is not on the download page for the NST website. Perhaps someone should change that.

I faced updating error too. I could reolve it only after uninstalling Step Counter. Though i had already uninstalled sports tracker and deleted the sports tracker folders on the phone memory as well as the memory card, but that along did not help.

I had no problems updating NST on my N95. Run 11 km today with the new version and had no problems. The track was recorded fine and also no problems uploading to the website. The GPS satellites were found really fast. There are no big changes in the new version. Some changes are:
- smaller gps sign
- workout summary after stopping the workout.

i could install 2.05 only after removing stepcounter, but then i had the same updating error installing stepcounter 0.25 back. there is a solution: you have to uninstall stepcounter every time before workout and install nst 2.05. After workout repeat vice versa :D

am running 1.78 currently and get am up to date on checking for update, get no update available. Downloaded from posted link, also deinstalled step counter but on installing get message not compatible with this phone. Any ideas if the update is available for n96 or how to resolve issue if it is?

I too got a nice surprise yesterday when I headed out for a run.

Updated and set off and waited for the beep which never came...

I had the phone on silent, so not sure if this is a problem, although with 1.82 this still allowed the autolap beep.

It should work with the N96. It is working on the N85 as well as the N79. And N96 being FP2 too, it should work.

The Sport Tracker updated automatically during 20.-22.03.2009 and after that the Wellness Diary and what more crucial the Mail for Exchange don't start anymore in my Nokia E90. Please let me know what to do ASAP!

Try moving all workouts generated by NST 2.05 uot of the Sportstracker folder on your phone and then try Wellness Diary and Mail for Exchange. Does this enable both to work or just Wellness Diary? I suspect just the latter.

After these steps the Wellness Diary works fine but the Mail for Exchange doesn't. Any idea what to do with the Mail for Exchange?

Try downloading NST 2.05 from NST website and then uninstalling NST 1.78 and backing up all NST data on phone before deleting. Then try installing NST 2.05 from downloaded installation file. (NB// Remeber to unpair your user on yuor phone priro to doing this and then pair again after new install and re-introduction of backed up data.

@pkarjal5 This may be a bit of a stab in the dark but it may be worth a try.

After installing NST v2.05, have you tried uninstalling and re-installing Mail for Exchange. I know it in the past that installing one peice of software can slightly mess up another. In some cases removing and re-installing the original peice of software can correct the problem resulting in both sofwtare working.

I agree with djh.sthlm that we can make it easier for others to find solutions to problems discussed within this thread if we post problems separately in the NST next level up forum rather than within this specific thread.

it reports new v2 app is available, and downloads it and kicks of the installer application, which then fails with a system error (whether or not you switch back to sportstracker app and close it). I'm on the latest E65 public release firmware 4.0633.74.00. I also get system errors when running sportracker, e.g. when I start a new track by pressing OK, but pressing OK a second time starts no problemo.

The Nokia Navteq map server NST uses supplies a single map variety. It's quite good but specific cycling route maps are not presently available.

My suggestion for a must have is a way you can have specific times notified like for example when you do training for interval training and don't wanna keep checking your cell phone to see when to stop(ie 2min sprint) that a sound and backlight notify you after. it's pretty tough to focus on a sprint and check if you've finished the interval. Also I use it to time my jumprope intervals 2mins skip then 1min rest while skipping its hard to check your time when too switch to the "rest" period a sound and backlight indication would help greaty

you should be able to go to the user's page on the website and click on the most recent workout if my memory serves me correcty. It does seem a little wierd as you feel you should be cheering somehow.
