This has happened a couple of times.
If I write a bug report (especially if I take my time, to make sure I am clear and precise, and spell correctly) hitting 'submit' presents me with an empty bug report window. The one I so laborously typed is gone.
Highlight, copy and paste. That's the best suggestion I can think of and simple insurance that your labors wont be wiped to oblivion in the even of server disruptions, like we had today.

is it annoyingly frequent?
After a while of being idle (not clicking any links or refreshing a page) when I click a link or a button, I might get redirected to the front page. Sometimes I have been writing a long response to you guys and it gets wiped. Luckily, I've learned the HC&P-method suggested by djh.sthlm there a while ago already :). This doesn't bother me yet as it happens only very seldom... how frequent is it for you guys?
Lost quite a few posts yesterday. Seem better thuogh now.
EDIT: Looks like we wre posting at the same time. The server seemed to be all over the place yesterday probably lost 5-6 posts site went down once or twice, received not authorised to post a coulpe of times two after submitting posts. As I say seems better this morning.

I've categorize the problem as intermittent and annoying only if I don't H&C.
I'll echo mbrett's comments about yesterday's server issues. I had a problem posting a few times and couldn't log in to this forum nor the SportsTracker website over the same period.

Just happened to me again. I discussed with teemule and we agreed that although annoying, it's not critical. But we cannot just leave it as it is forever either. So, teemule already promised to investigate a bit at some point, but we cannot promise we'll elevate this to high priority.
The unfortunate issues yesterday were caused by problems in the Nokia Account.
And no worries, David! It's part of my job anyways :)

Not sure if this will help you but I think I've been able to force an occurrence of losing a post when clicking the "Post comment" radio button.
When I reply to a post, if somebody else happens to reply before I submit mine, then I lose my post. This happened to me twice today. Still C&P'ing for insurance so no worries.

The "Highlight, Copy and Paste" is not highly praised or used enough.
I haven't seen the issue on betalabs but have in many other sites and applications. I would encourage others to use it.
Even when teemule helps get betalabs to the 'more stable and mature' state he and the team indicate they are striving for the "H,C&P" will still keep my mind at ease when positing comments anywhere on the web.
