Then you have a problem in your 5800, if you cannot install any apps? Can you try to re-installing the phone software?
Certificate Error
its not all apps. just a lot, i keep getting cert errors, im on v11 but its branded so cant update or re-instally software, i think i will have to de-brand it just to get updates, not that this will necessarily fix the issue.
Nokia know about the cert errors, almost every phone they make that is symbian has the issue but yet no real fix other than format the device or reset the clock, can you imagine if windows/mac users were told to format their hard drives just to install something, ehh bye bye MS and Apple
Hi, Thanks for a try. Are
Hi,
Thanks for a try.
Are you getting the "Unable to install" error message? Then just one thing I'd like you to check is the date on your phone. If your phone is dated to the past, the application will not install.
expired certificate
Hey,
I've got the same problem, when trying to install it stops and displays: expired certificate.
I've got SW version 20.0.012 which should be the most recent one available; Also tried the update application on the phone and that says no updates are available.
I also had this issue with other applications available on the Nokia site for 5800.
Hi. Let me give you an
Hi. Let me give you an update on this.
I'm afraid Photo Browser is not a part of this problem. I still looked but couldn't find a quick fix, unfortunately. Updating the firmware will likely remove the error. But I understand some of you have branded phones. And the update is not always available, either.
Only solution I can provide is to recommend you going to the support (that of operator if branded) and request to reinstall the software. You must be frustrated, and I hope I could offer a better solution as well.
I'll come back when I find out some good news.
the same - expired certificate
that's the error message I also get - expired certificate. the phone is not branded, latest firmware 20.0.012.
Expired Certificate
@stonybulgaria
have you tried turning your phone clock by 6 months and re-trying the nistall. If you still receive the same error message nock the clock further back. Once the sowftare is installed correct you clock back.
If this works please post the date at which it works.

expired certificate
hey mbrett,
yes, I did that, I tried also different dates back and forth - then the message is uglier, something like "the certificate has expired, or not yet valid, or the date setting of the phone is incorrect"
I have beautiful conversations with my phone ;-)
expired certificate
ciao benito,
I hope you understand this ...
It turns out that the "expired certificate" error has nothing to do with Photo Browser or any other application, but is a system bug! Please Nokia, fix this soon!!
I suspect that the problem in my case was caused by Nokia PC Suite, because I tried to install Photo Browser with it (for a first time I install with Nokia PC Suite; did not have any problems before that).
First I installed a dictionary language pack (first time failed, second time - OK), and after that when I tried to install Photo Browser, it failed, and I started getting the "expired certificate" error every time I tried to install an application (with Nokia PC Suite or from the phone).
Anyway, the solution for now is a FULL RESET of the phone. Please follow these instructions. They worked for me (Thanks Walker!!):

grazie per avermi dato la soluzione . ho resettato il telefono e tutte le applicazioni che ho salvato nel computer, le installa tranquillamente senza darmi più l' errore del certificato.
Just as all of you can
Just as all of you can understand, benito just said:
"thanks for giving me the solution. I reinstalled the phone firmware and now all applications can be installed without that certificate error"
Maybe this can e useful for someone who doesn't speak Italian ;-)
I had the same error when
I had the same error when trying to install certain apps and mbrett's solution works perfectly fine for me. I usaully just change the date a year back. PS. Congrats to mbrett for your nomination :D
