video recording

It would be nice to enable video recording, like a close up mode. If i can take pictures, why not be able to record also?

c'mon lets get some support

c'mon lets get some support here. does no one think it would be useful to have such an option, rather then applying the ''hitting the camera'' trik?

Why?

What would the addition of a video function to the magnifier give that is not already in the phone's camera application?

You'll get a macro mode that

You'll get a macro mode that isn't availabe in the phone's camera app. Whne you try to record close ups the video gets blured.

really don't know why no one

really don't know why no one is interested in this idea. two moths ago on sites dedicated to symbian phones there were topics about using video recording in macro mode by hitting the lens of camera?! (really would never try it like this). If you can take close up images, why not be able to take close up videos?

Hi milan21884, thank you for

Hi milan21884, thank you for the feedback. I totally agree that recording videos in macro would be a great feature, since users would be able to record small printed text pages to read later. But that is a feature that is not yet implemented on S60 Nokia platforms.
The main issue is that when you are recording videos, the focal distance keeps changing, since the camera or object is/are moving constantly. That is why recording video using such a complex focus is a bit hard to implement.

I've noticed that when using

I've noticed that when using the barcode it's using some kind of zoom. Try it on your keyboard. When the camera focuses the buttons on keyboard are much clearer to see then when using the default camera. Try it. Also, you said that the focal distance keeps changing, but once when focused you can move the camera and the focus is the same and not changing. Of course i understand what you're saying, but i think that when you use macro you move slowly your camera on little object, keeping it as stable as much as possible. Also if you google a bit you can find topics on macro video recording on n95 on various sites with comparasion wit standard video recording on close distance and that nokia somehow forgot to implement this feature on the phone. So the macro video recording is there, except there is no option for this feature. So i think, no i know, this is possible. Please consider it and try to implement it. Thank you.
