when i rotate the app to landscape it doesn't stretch to whole screen, it has some free space in between. Also when returning to portrait mode when the scientific calculator is on, some buttons stay in the landscape mode and look cut out.

On my N95 8Gb, when rotated into landscape view the x/y ratio is maintained, but the width is kept at full width resulting in the loss of the bottom third of the screen. This is corrected again as soon as the phone is rotated back to normal orientation.

Yes it does. But it should adjust to landscape like the default calculator does, not cut some buttons from the screen.
