uninstalling this application

I tried installing this application in E71. May be I should not have. When I click on the bookmark, nothing happens. It says check the address. When I go to the settings, it asks for user name, pwd, address etc? What am I supposed to enter here?

May be it is a lame question but I seriously can't get this to work in my phone. How do I uninstall it by the way?

Go to App Manager.

Go to App Manager and check the install log. I am sorry to say experience so far is that only one of the three insatllations related to this can be uninstalled as teh other two do not show in the apps list in Application Manager. The Dev team have said they would look into this.

thanks mbrett. it so

thanks mbrett. it so happened that i installed many applications on my phone last night. unfortunately, i do not know which ones this app installed. could you name the three related installations by any chance?

i wonder if it is,

a) Internet Suite Central...
b) IS Very Lite Localizer
c) Internet Suite Very Lite

and is it very difficult to make a simple uninstaller (being nokia's own product)? i think it is one of the very first things that anyone should look into while they make software.

thanks.

Uninstalling

The application is designed for the S60 3rd Edition fp 2 only and it is not compatible with E71 or N95. I am sorry that we failed to warn about the incompatibility during the installation. We will add the standard warning note to the next release.

Uninstalling the IS Very Lite Localizer will remove the whole application. This is enough because the other two SIS files are embedded within this SIS. All three show up separately during the installation, but removing the main component will also remove the embedded ones.

Thanks redreku,

Got to say your user name sounds like something from Street Fighter.

Once upon a time...

There was a computer called Sinclair ZX Spectrum 48k and with some classmates we had plenty of fun with the games of the day. You know, 48k's worth of 100% machine code action in colour - all 16 of them. Then there were the other guys with Commodore 64.

The name originates from those days. The exact details do not translate very well, but tells something of my age... now where did I put that S60 Spectrum emulator again;-)

Never had a Spectrum. Did have an Acorn Electron.

Never had a Spectrum. Did have an Acorn Electron.

Those were the early day of basic for me (non of this "Visual" stuff).

Just basic "BASIC". Saving programs onto an audio cassette, via an audo cassette player. Now I'm showing my age.

The marvels of Chucky Egg, Donkey Kong, Gauntlet, Elite and Exile.

The real treat used to be visiting my Aunt and Uncle who had an Atari (with the wood panelling) and playing Qubert and Pong among others.

Playing "Ghosts and Goblins" on my PSP at the mo'. Now that games brings back long lost memories.

BBC Model B and Dragon

Oh yes, the Acorn Electron from the same friendly folks who brought you the BBC Model B. Remember reading about those in CG&G and Your Computer, but never actually saw one live. I think I once saw a Dragon - the computer I might add. Totally useless fact of the day: They actually made those also in Finland under license and bearing the name Finlux Dragon...

Oh well, those were the days;-)

Please use the Application manager

In my N95 8GB the path is menu key => Applications => Application manager, then select "IS Very Lite Localizer" and press the C key (or alternatively Options/Remove). Or if you have the latest version of the client, the software to remove is called "Here and now BETA".

Hope that helps,

Which phone?

Sounds like you have it preinstalled in the firmware already. Which phone model do you have? Can you see the four previews without problems with your current version?

We are kind of between beta and commercial at the moment, because the S60 3.2 version has already been shipped with some devices. Unfortunately it is not possible to install the Beta Labs packages if you already have the firmware version. However, we are delivering the same fixes to the product programs as well, so they should be included in the upcoming firmware updates.

Cheers,

Pekka
