Wed, 2009-05-06 00:43 geoffg.ovi: Date format for Forum

I notice that we are currently using the US-type date format - mmddyy - which makes no sense to most Europeans.

This is a pet hate of mine - it has no logic to it, for example as a sort order, and is ripe for lots of confusion.

Can we use the much more sensible and comprehensible European format of ddmmyy, please.

I nearly misread a date as the April 5th, but then realised by lokking at other posts that it must be 4th of May!

If US folk us ethis forum, then as a compromise, we need a format where the month is aplabetic rather than numberic.

One way or another, it would be good to ensure that the date is clear and not prone to mininterpretation.

Thanks.

I'll see if there is an easy way to change this. The web-standard nowadays is I believe YYYY-MM-DD. That makes the most sense from a numerical point of view too: having the most significant number to the left.
