Mess. Editor in Use error

Well, the issue which made me uninstall it from my N73 the last time around has again surfaced, this time, with the new conversations release and my N85.

Many times while replying via the default messaging app, when i try to send it i get a "Mess. Editor in Use" error and i am left at the message editor screen itself.

The next part i think maybe a FP2 error, since i cannot verify that it happens after installing the coversations app only.
If i save that message to the drafts and then try to open the draft, the message is all empty!

Yes, unfortunately, same thing here with "Mess. Editor in Use", tested on N85 and N96.

Same exact thing happens to

Same exact thing happens to me with the N85.

I've uninstalled Conversations as a result and will try again when it's updated next.

Same Here - N78 & 6110 Navigator

I installed conversation in both phones and error is exactly as described.

I realized that the problem is that the conversation program doesn't close and "steals" the message editor hence the error. I've tested with both phones and if I never open conversation or access contacts list (since conversation is in the tab next contacts) I can use the phones without error. When I open conversation all goes AWOL.

Comments elsewhere

Since I don't have the capability to join discussions together, I locked the duplicate thread from:

and encourage discussion to be continued in this thread

[5320XM] Same here... but a stopgap solution

Same here. Opening Contacts and/or Conversations will cause the "message editor" error.

TO REGAIN USE OF MESSAGE EDITOR:

After closing Contacts/Conversations, longpress on menu key, select the "Contacts" application, and close it (using 'C' or backspace).

Done. Now you can text as usual.

Automated way for Stopgap Solution above...

Okay, here's how to automate the above:

1. Download Jbak Taskman from here: http://jbak.ru/jbaktaskman_en.php
2. Install Jbak Taskman *in the phone memory*
3. Turn off and turn on your phone

IMPORTANT NOTE: Jbak Taskman always starts after 10~15 seconds of bootup. It shows briefly before hiding itself (and replacing the built-in Task Manager). This means that in the future, after turning on your phone, DO NOT use it for about 10~15 seconds (to allow Jbak Taskman time to load).

4. Open Contacts
5. Exit Contacts
6. Invoke Jbak Taskman (longpress on Menu key)
7. Shift the highlight down until Contacts is highlighted
8. Menu > Program Rules
9. Check/mark the box "Kill after send to back"
10. OK
11. Hide

Now, when you exit Contacts, if it somehow stays open, Jbak Taskman will kill it.

Probably worth doing the same with . . .

Probably worth doing the same with the following:

1) Gallery
2) Log

NOTE// Only issue with "kill on send to back" for contacts is if you use OVI Contacts for chat it will of course be killed if you need to do enything else with your phone.

[UPDATE] Just checked and if Contacts is set to "kill on send to back" and you are online in OVI Contacts you remani online when Contacts is killed. When you re-open Contacts you show as online straight away. Not sure what would happen if you send Contacts to back during a chat.

Me too.. when conversation

Me too.. when conversation is installed and i'm sending a message it appears a message: Mess. editor in use. Sometimes it seems it is sending sms but not in reality because it doesn't send it ( the message doesn't appear neither in sent messages nor in outbox). Infact when this happens it doesn't appear the outbox icon in the right top corner.
