Bugreport for Location Tagger

jonnymaserati Fri, 2009-01-09 19:21

Location Tagger keeps closing

I was out using Location Tagger today and it kept closing. I had to keep reloading it before taking pictures, but it kept closing again.

I had sportstracker running at the same time, sharing a bluetooth GPS which i use instead of the internal module on my N95.

Any ideas?

Regards... Jonny.

I've been able to

I've been able to simultaneously operate Location Tagger and Sports Tracker when I had an N95 8GB without incident.

You should probably do a master clear / master reset and try again as it seems as though there may be some other factors at play causing this. Also make sure you have the latest version of both (Sports Tracker is v1.82; not sure what the latest Location Tagger is)

Needless to say Nokia has ceased development on the Location Tagger app

I think the most likely

I think the most likely cause is a resource issue, if yours is an N95-1. S60 will close apps when it runs out of resources, e.g. RAM, of which the N95-1 has a lot less than the N95 8Gb. Also, dependent on what firmware you have, this would be even more likely if your firmware is prior to memory paging.

I've run Location Tagger without problems on an N95-1. If its OK without SportTracker running, in my view this indiucates its a resource issue as above.

Thanks for the replies. I

Thanks for the replies.

I have the latest firmware and application versions (I'm a bit anal like that). What's a master reset?

I do indeed have a N95-1... and can't wait for Maps 3.0 to come along!

archive definition

Hey guys let me help you out, an get you a little up to date with things. I understand if some may not be familiar with its history

First off Location tagger is an archived project & Graduated project, "together".
Meaning it graduated and in this case became integrated on following Symbian v3 feature pack 2 devices.
No more need to manually install it.

Second it was left for archive so others with previous devices may still use the application but no longer supported by betalabs team nor will it continue its development as an archived application. Possibly in the future it may re-open for further development, as the same applies for Graduated projects, but graduated projects are still supported for current bug reports and suggestions ( I believe).

For current support information and back round knowledge follow this link which shows its previous blogged history. http://betalabs.nokia.com/blog/tag/location-tagger/

P.S. It is also currently needed on the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic for location tagging till implemented on the device firmware.

Yes correct yiu would be

Yes correct you would be required to install it for photo geo-tagging. I dont see any other need for this application, also i believe sports tracker does not require it.
