Suggestion for Nokia Beta Labs

Sat, 2009-06-13 22:19 mbrett: I've made loads of minor suggestions, but here's a biggy

Is it possible/plausible for the betalabs site to be changed into a frames based site so that the top banner and tabs do not scroll off the top of the screen when you are scrolling down through posts in the forum.

An expansion of this concept would be for commenting/posting in threads to be done via a fixed frame at the bottom og the screen.

I know what you mean, but it's difficult to imagine how it would feel. Do you have a reference to show?
I must admit, I am personally somewhat allergic to the word 'frames' when it comes to web development, but I'll try my best not to have negative assumptions. :)

Tend to agree with Ilkka: frames are evil, unless proven otherwise :-)

Mon, 2009-06-15 23:53 mbrett: I understand the objections to frames, but . . .

I understand the objections to frames, but I believ they have their uses. WIthin the organisation I work for frames are used on all intranet sites. The real advantage of frames in my opinion is the ability to scroll in a website whilst keeping the top banner visible making inter-page navigation of a website much much easier. I realise this is just one person's opinion, but is not a major aim of the internet it's useability and minimisation of unecessary clicking and scrolling?
