Bugreport for Nokia Messaging

Can't sync IMAP folders (labels) from Google mail account

Using the latest version of Nokia Messaging ( build 9.5.3.75) on my E71 with firmware 300.21.012 and can't get the folder sync to work. It only syncs the Google system folders, but not the custom folders. IMAP in Google is activated, the folders are checked in my Nokia messaging account, but I don't see the custom folders in the handset client. Also tried a clean installation after a hard reset, without any success. It used to work (well, more or less) in previous versions, but never with this.

Have you tried going to email.nokia.com

Have you tried going to email.nokia.com and setting up the folders you want to view from there?

That's what I meant with

That's what I meant with "the folders are checked in my Nokia messaging account". Already did that but it doesn't work.
The funny thing is I unchecked all folders (read (custom folder), trash and spam), saved the settings, checked them again and now I only see the spam folder on my device. Before I did that I saw trash and spam, but never my custom folder(s). The E71 solution still seems to be pretty buggy.

Aaarg, updated to build

Aaarg, updated to build 9.6.0.12 and it still doesn't work. I only see the spam folder, no matter what folders I check or uncheck in the web client on email.nokia.com. Come on!

Just for interest, is this a Nokia support forum or just a forum for desperate customers where you don't get any help?

So, I had to find a solution

So, I had to find a solution for myself. Again.

The Nokia Email client on the phone only shows folders if you have "worked" (e.g. put some email into it) with them in the time that's defined in the settings under "Remove emails older than ..." (translated; I use german UI). So if you've set this to 3 days and haven't done anything in a custom folder in the last 3 days, the folder disappears from the phone client and you have to put an email into it using your Gmail account to see it again. Insane concept.

Nokia Support: Thank's for nothing!

That's correct, you need to

That's correct, you need to have email from the last 4 days (the present day and 3 days in the past) in the folder in order for the folder to appear within the Nokia Messaging client. The client will not display a folder if it does not have email from the last 4 days in it.
