Nokia OVI Suite 1.1.410 at least showing the Nokia N82 device icon when its connected via USB, So i guess this will be implemented in Nokia OVI Suite 2.0 also, Yeah as you mentioned Nokia PC Suite 7.1.30.9 will not show this device icon ... I agree that it may not important for the developers point of you but for users like us its something nice, after seeing earlier lower end pictures are shown on pc suite not N82's :(

I guess in NOS 2.0 your device icon will be shown once it graduates from our beta labs....

I want to add to this that for N82 , we dont get notifications for new Message, Call. Its not available in PC suite also. Please add these also.

As Cricfancy said so many lower end devices have this , then why not N82.

OK. Its getting a little bit disappointing. Ovi Suite is graduated and still nokia N82 device icon is not included!!!
Do you have a kind of problem with adding this picture? Don't you have a N82 to take a picture of it or what?!!
It's not a big thing we N82 owners want you.

Hi shoeib. Nokia Ovi Suite loads device icons from device memory. Unfortunately, Nokia N82 doesn't have device icon integrated into device memory. I'm sorry about that.

And as you probably ask, why device icon was shown for Nokia N82 in Nokia Ovi Suite 1.1. Reason for that was that these device icons were part of installation package in Nokia Ovi Suite 1.1. However, now we only support loading device icons from device memory.

What comes to message notifications, what is supported varies between different devices. It seems that, we can't get notifications from Nokia N82 out to Nokia Ovi Suite.

@Samuli, This is not big show stopper issue for me :-)
But I just notice that in NSU , we can see N82 picture, Does that come from Installation? not device?

Hi, yes that's true, Nokia Software Updater reads device icon from server, where the firmware update is located :)
