OM 3.03 b7 First impressions: a step forward and two backwards

Finally my N97 backs from the Nokia care I have the possibility to test the new beta.

the new GUI is better of the old one, but if you need to find some address you have to spend a lot of time.

I have not already tested on the road, I hope to do it asap.

updated the rating, I gave a star more, using more the software I learned to use better the find address, but it has to be improved.

On the road

Today I tried OM on the road and I drove a route of 65 km, very well the first 40km, I was so happy to see that all worked fine, GPS included, there was always a good signal and the arrow was almost perfectly in the right place and any problem with the speed.
About 1 km before the exit of the motorway the nightmare was back: OM was temporarly freezed and the speed to 0, after few km no more signal of gps was aviable.
when I backed, the gps did not fix rapidly, more of 10 minutes, once again the same problem of a lot of N97s (once again to the nokia service?). After the fix, it was impossible to drive to my favourite 4, it was freezed, but it was possible try the "track me" for some km: it was perfect.
After I tried once again to drive to my favourite 4: screen freezed and phone did not respond any more: only solution take out the battery.

I have exactly the same

I have exactly the same problems with OM 3.03 on my N97, as navio1973. In my case though, I have to add a 3rd major drawback : Maps are automatically "aligned to route" (they continuously auto-rotate) and you can do nothing so as to align them to North.

I think a GPS software should first and foremost :
a) use up-to-date, reliable maps
b) give your exact positioning on these maps at real time.
and then do the rest (like voice guidance, etc).
I'm afraid people at Nokia do not see things that way. When compared to the competition, their maps appear to be by far the most outdated and their software does not support real time positioning for more than some minutes. And from version to version, things get worse. How sad !!!

Finding the address

You say it takes a lot of time to find address...

What Im doing wrong since I cant find any address ever.
Nothing for post code
Nothing for City
Nothing for Street name
Nothing for any combination of those.
