Mon, 2009-09-14 18:23 shafz: IM Beta on E71

Installed Nokia Messaging in my E 71 Today.

- Installation was smooth and quick
- Login Details was a bit tuff for the first time while typing the password, then figured out that you shoudl use the Shift Key to type the numbers.
- Works Fantastically with Wifi
- A bit slow with GPRS connection when going with Multiple connections ( Yahoo & Gtalk)

Questions:
- Is there an option to sign in with Two Yahoo Accounts Simultaneously.

My Phone Details:
Nokia E 71
FirmWare: 300.21.012
RM346 Nokia E71-1(210.03)

Location: Chennai-India
Operator: Aircel

Thank You

There's option for sound too.. I wish I could change the alert with another mp3 sound file.

You can have multiple Yahoo accounts in the product, but can only be signed into one at a time.

We've not seen problems with GPRS so would like to know if others are experiencing too,

Wed, 2009-09-23 22:53 Daryllk: Installing messaging beta 2 on E71

I have the original IM for the E71 installed. When I installed the Beta 2 - it appeared to install but would not open. I uninstalled it but now when I try to reinstall it - I get a message saying it is already installed - do I want to overwrite it. When I say yes - it installs to about four fifths on the bar and then I get a message saying installation failed. I can't find any files or folders in phone to remove and so am just stuck. Thinking maybe I should uninstall original IM (OZ communications/ version 4.6.3) but worry about having no IM available.

Thu, 2009-10-01 13:08 dareman83: Need more feature

I'm sorry, I'm not good elaborating things in English. But, here goes my reviews:
Pros:
- beautiful design
- easy to login.
- support gtalk, ym, and ovi
- use tab to navigate between services, e.g.: from ym to gtalk
- able to change avatar picture from camera directly
Cons:
- does not support windows live messenger
- when adding new contact, nokia chat ask to input user name. Please differentiate the look of "@gmail" writing in user name field to make it easier to see (so others won't think that it is the same field as the above user name field.)
- when taking picture: E71 flash turn on too late, it came on after the picture is taken (indicated by "click" sound").
- please consider to use center D-pad key to take picture to make it like tailored perfectly for e71. if not, please mention which button should be pressed to take picture.
- does not have buzz function as in ym.

Not tested yet but I hope Nokia chat support these:
- conference chat?
- turn-off Nokia chat notification sound/vibration when disabling it from phone mode
