Bugreport for Nokia Ovi Suite 2.0

After installing the latest version Of Nokia Ovi Suite 2.0 and restarting my PC, I get the following message from Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library:
Runtime Error!
Program:C\Program Files\Nokia\Nokia Ovi Suite\Nokia Ovi Suite.exe
Operation failed
This application has required the PC runtime to terminate in an unusual way:
Please contact the applications support team for more info.

The Ovi app also displays an operation failed message.
The app no longer recognises my phone.

Runtime Error!

Can you please perform following actions:
- uninstall & re-install Ovi Suite
or to go even deeper on this...
- uninstall Ovi Suite
- clean and fix your windows registry (there are tools available for such purposes)
- install Ovi Suite

Unfortunately it is a bit hard to provide exact reason or fix for this failure (it is not commonly encountered) because it can be caused by multiple different reasons. You can find more information about Runtime Errors easilly from web.

Some progress

Thanks aklehto,

I've done what you suggested, now the app recognises my phone, I still get the Runtime Error! message, but if I don't click OK on the error message box, then I can use Ovi Suite. If I click OK, Ovi Suite closes.

Win 7

This is happening on my Win7 as well. It was not happening on the Beta version. I cannot connect my N97 to the OVI Suite.

Sync contacts visual c++ runtime error

I also get this error message when I try to sync contacts (office 2007) with my n97 firmware v.12.0.026..as above if I dont click ok ovi remains functioning.. ish...but operation wont cancel..wasn't a problem with OVI 1...renders ovi 2.0.1.35 useless for me...have tried every form/level of OVI 2reinstall..no joy...how do I clean and fix my windows registry(running vista home premium sp2)?..please help anyone..If not ..where can I download OVi 1 from?
