Hi Ilkka,
Long time no post. Probably a bit ahead of the game, but wondering what is new with OVI Contacts as on the Apps page it shows as a new version has been released today, but there is nothing in the blog and the applicaion page has not changed to say what's new.

Just wondering.

I have noticed that there are two versions, depending on if you follow the link to the OVI Contacts via mobile or download the client directly from the Betalabs site. I think the OVI Contacts mobile link is to a country specific version (only c.600kb (UK English for me)), whereas the direct download is multi-lingual at c.2MB (described as c.600kb on the betlabs download page though.

Did notice this on the Blog page:
"Related to the S60 app development, I should say that we just recently made an updated version available of the app for 5800 XpressMusic and N97 (as some of you already noticed in the discussion forums ;-)). The new version of Ovi Contacts is much more stable, as quite a few early problems that we had have now been solved. Furthermore, this software release also contains a feature that has been long-waited and requested by most of the Beta Labs actives: more descriptive friend invitation pop-up. In the new pop-up you can see who is the person behind the Nokia account username (i.e. firstname, lastname and profile image are visible to your friend who receives the invitation)."

Thanks for noticing the filesizes, I've corrected them now.

Hmm.. I don't know more details about the changes (except for what is written in the blog post), but I can ask somebody from the contacts team to comment if you wish?

What is the diffrence between the Betalabsa direct download file and the OVI Contacts file. I believe it is the language support, but there is no official comment.

Hey mbrett,

As for the different files, it should be the language support that makes the difference. We do now have fully localized app as well, for all languages supported by the S60 devices.
