NO NO! PLEASE NO!

Bloated, slow and unstable.

Why you guys give us "surveys" about Ovi Suite? Please fix the problems first. Then release.

You will loose customers releasing phones like N97 and software like Ovi "Suite".

Best regards and all the best,

Sim

I would seriously like to know the thoughts of anyone from the Ovi Suite team on the 300MB + RAM usage. Why couldn't you bring it down guys?

Memory consumption

Hi alsiladka, we have been working very actively with memory consumption starting from the first Nokia Ovi Suite 2.0 Beta release. We had major improvements for memory consumption between Beta 2 - Beta 4. Of course, we would like to improve it more, but we wanted to release Nokia Ovi Sutie 2.0 now to public, so that we can continue working for follow-up releases - where we once again hope improve memory consumption, even more.

I agree with you, that we should still get memory consumtion down. However, we can't do all things within one release.

Hopefully you understand.

why

Samuli.

why did you rush to graduate it when its clearly not finished.

do you get given dates for release that you have to target and it then goes out on that date finished or not?

Agree to Sim, Bloated, slow

Agree to Sim,

Bloated, slow and unstable. Too much memory consumption. No improvment. how can it be that i close Ovi Suit and still have NokiaMServer running in the Background taking 300MB???

ME as a advanced user might check the task manager and close it by hand. But others?

You shouldnt release software that clearly isnt finished!

Outlook sync feature regressions compared with PC Suite

Hi,

PC Suite provides the facility to select (by browsing) the Outlook folders that will be synchronised. This is can be useful. For example, I did not want to synchronise all of my Outlook contacts with my Nokia E71 as there wold be too many, so I segmented by contacts into different folders. With PC Suite I could then synchronise with a folder I reserved for active contacts for the E71.

This is not possible with Ovi Suite as there is no such configuration control. In fact there are no options to manage the interface with Outlook.

I could not find any work around to this, and as Ovi Suite also seemed to be large, slow and offer nothing of value over PC Suite, I uninstalled it and reinstalled PC Suite.

I was also disappointed to discover that Ovi Suite and Ovi on the web are completely separate with no collaboration or interoperation. I had hoped that Ovi on the web could act as a relay between my E71 and my broadband connected PC.

Ovi Suite is a major disapointment. I can see my next phone being either a Blackbury or an iPhone.

MMS

The new suite is very nice, but ... when you can store the MMS?
It would also be very useful to recover the function of saving all messages (ALL, SMS and MMS), on the PC with the details so as not to be forced to always use the Ovi Suite and always on the same PC. It would be nice to have this feature including the address book.
This feature was in the old Pc Suite (only sms and badly programmed), why have you taken?!

Is this a Pre-Beta???

Very shiny user interface - and that's all there is to say about Ovi Suite 2.0.0.10. Going back to PC Suite, functionality is far better, it's more stable (not perfect, bur far more reliable), more options suitable for me. I'm not interested in all these shiny web-based functions, I'm a little more than 15 years old. I want to synchronize contacts, notes, calendar itemsto and from Outlook and move pictures between pc and phone - from time to time check for software updates. Not getting error messages about aborted sync every time i try to connect. Long story short: I want a useful program or app.

To say it in danish: det er en ommer, Nokia! With all your resources, you should be able to do much better. I suggest you split up in two software divisions: one for the youngsters, with emphasis ob media sharing and one for us serious users, with the demanded and expected business and communication functions. Just an idea...

spyware?

I installed Nokia Ovi Suite 2.0.1.35 one hour ago. I am surprised by agressive behavior of the software. It was doing something for 20 minutes with my harddrive, take 1GB RAM and CPU usage was almost 100%. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable. It should first ask user a then do something. I would like to know what it was doing for 20 minutes?
