Discussion for Sports Tracker

Tue, 2009-10-13 20:54 alsiladka: Sports Tracker to evolve into Ovi Journeys

Why didn't any of us see this coming! All the services by Nokia are now Ovi! Sports Tracker is going go down the same path it seems : Ovi Journeys.
Nice name IMO.

I read about it on TheSymbianBlog @ http://thesymbianblog.com/2009/10/13/ovi-journeys-the-evolution-of-sport...

Sounds amazing. Can't wait to try it out.

Seen that post, but I assume it will only take the tracking and media side from Sports Tracker as it was previously said that it Sports Tracker was going to be split form Nokia and managed by the main two developer/creators of NST.

This will be managed from http://www.strortstracking technologies.com. I assume that Sports Tracker will do the speed, HRM, altitude etc. more sports related information, whereas OVI Journeys will be limited to route logging and media geotagging.

NST Transiition to occure towards the end of the year.

Also maybe the route logging is already being tested in the "Track me" option in OVI Maps 3.03 for S60v5.
