Suggestion for Nokia Audiobooks

Please create a version that will work on the 5800XM! This seems like the perfect application to seperate my audio tutorials from my music. I find it annoying when you have music on shuffle and those unwanted tracks keep popping up. As far as I know there isn't a working solution for this with ipod's at the moment so Nokia could put themselves in a strong market position with their new smart phones if they release a version soon. Even an 'update music player from selected folder' option would be a bonus!

In case anyone is interested the Nokia 5800XM does have a function that allows sound files to be tagged as podcasts from the song details section of the file. This can be accessed from the gallery. Once tagged as a podcast the sound file will show in the podcast library and not the music library, meaning that your music can be shuffled without the annoyance of unwanted tracks and sound files being played. You can obviously play the podcasts in the podcasts application which has very good functionality.

well heres the thing i used

well heres the thing
i used to have an n95 with this program installed
now i have the 5800xm and it don't work
and i have spent months downloading converting books to this format
and now i cant use them
unless you update the program again to work with this phone
please please PLEASE i love this program

Audiobooks on 5800XM

I miss it! It's a very nice application, had it on my N73ME. Have now upgrade to a 5800XM and functionality is good. But I need my Audiobook application, so please let Audiobooks be upgrade to work with 5800XM!

I'm in the same situation as reported in the messages posted above. Please let us if a new version for s60 5th will be seen soon. In the meanwhile, please explain step by step how to use the podcast program with our audiobooks files. I tried to change the attributes as you described above from audiobook to podcast, and I even placed the files into the podcast directory, but it seems that the program only see files downloaded by itself. Please explain in details. Looking forward to receiving your comments, I remain with my very best regards. Stefano Sassi

I think it's unnecessary to have a separate app. Just ensure the music player on 5th edition handles audiobooks like it handles podcasts - recognises the Genre tag and saves position and puts them under a separate category.

Would be nice if it recognised Disc Number too and Compilation albums or Album Artist, but this is a little off topic.
