Suggestion for Nokia Step Counter

Step Counter on 5800

Well, the 5800 XpressMusic is a great phone, and it has an accelerometer. It would be fantastic if you would make a 5800 compatible version of the Step-Counter.

Me too! By the way, Nokia

Me too! By the way, Nokia SportsTracker for 5800 doesn't calculate the number of steps too! How I wish, this Step Counter at least will support our device.

Works on 5800XM, but som issues

Thank you for this excellent application. I tested it on my 5800XM, and it seems to be very accurate when it comes to counting the steps (I checked on 2* 100 steps and it was accurate to 98%, also on a longer walk, 10 km). There is one big issue: it seems the application will fail to launch if the phone has been switched off. The only remedy is to delete the config.dat file and input new settings.

Support for 5800

I have to make it absolutely clear that the current version of the Step Counter does not support the 5800. Indeed, I have not even tried it myself on a 5800. It will be available eventually, though, and there is even a tentative plan for when it is supposed to happen, so please be patient.

I conirm that it doesn't

I confirm that it doesn't work on 5800, I tried it myself. It gives the "Unable to start engine. Exiting" error. The error doesn't go away even if you try to delete the config file (as suggested in the bugreports section)

Hope to have a working version soon, it's good for indoor sports where sports tracker cannot work

Thank you

Claudia

I am getting the "cannot

I am getting the "cannot start engine" now more times than not on my 5800. I wonder why it works sometimes, though. I have the step data, but will go multiple days/reboots without being able to "start the engine"

work on 5800 yes yes yes

if you have an error message on startup application :
just delete the config.dat file in the stepcounter on flash card and it work as the first time,

problem, you need reconfigure preferences
