Sun, 2009-02-15 15:41 teradome: Well, you better pray that

Well, you better pray that you don't find any problems, because I have been unable to recover my password due a glitch in their system ("We cannot send your temporary password at this time. Please try again later.") since November of 2008. I have been regularly emailing Nokia Support who have been completely unhelpful. As far as I can tell they don't even know who runs Messaging Support.

Look around email.nokia.com and try to find Support links. There's one, and it pushes you to corporate Contact Us, where NONE of the selections regarding what you're having problems with include Nokia Messaging. And once you finally reach someone, they will eventually give up and tell you that it is "not supported in the United States."

So keep your fingers crossed, sir.

Mon, 2009-02-16 06:01 snowy: ease ur attitude up. why not

ease ur attitude up.
why not explain here in details of your situation.
so far you make no sense and not clear. Also i find this unheard of.
Nokia care has always been very supportive.
Just create a new account. that would be simple.

Mon, 2009-02-16 20:34 teradome: I have been in contact with

Read my post again. I explained it. If I try to reset my password, it doesn't work.

I wrote the EXACT error message that occurs.

Not only have I tried contacting Nokia Support, I've also tried emailing nokiaemail@nokia.com (a Nokia project manager address found on S60.com), and support@nokiamessaging.com (another email found on S60.com). Neither have replied back yet. I've also been in contact with someone starting Twitter support for it at http://twitter.com/nokiamessaging who promptly disappeared.

Once your email address in being synchronized by the Messaging servers, it is locked to that Messaging account. You can't create another account and add the same email address to it. I've tried it already. I made up a Gmail address to create a new account so I could try adding my real email address to that account and it says it can't because the email address is already associated to a Nokia Messaging account.

Attitude? Why don't you try spending 3 months with Nokia Support who'll takes weeks to reply back and tell you they can't do anything until they just give up. Try it, it's a blast.

yeah this doesn't surprise me, they are very "supportive" --
"we are so incredibly sorry, we appologize for the inconvenience, but we refuse to help"
i could understand if it wasn't ready, but this app was clearly working, and still is for most, and now they refuse to support it?
i updated my e71 firmware and now this thing won't install, they won't tell me why because there is no go-live date. so now i get to reformat it again and pick a different country, because i am assuming they are lame enough to have blocked mine.

Thu, 2009-02-19 00:16 teradome: Um, that's exactly what I've

Um, that's exactly what I've been asking them to do. They are "investigating it," but they've been investigating it for nearly two months now. The first month I asked them to reset the password on the server side. After a month it was clear it was going to be complicated, I told them to just delete the account so I could set it up again. And that's where I've been stuck since.

And that link you posted is exactly where I got the "nokiaemail [at] nokia [dot] com" email address that I've written to.

Thu, 2009-02-19 00:28 teradome: @CG, yeah, the main

@CG, yeah, the main complaint here is that if you're eventually going to charge for this service, make it easy to send help questions to the right people.

It's WAY too roundabout to say: Need help? Go to the corporate nokia.com site, go to Contact Us, navigate through a bunch of pages clearly designed for Phone support, fill out a form, select from a pulldown that doesn't contain anything about Nokia Messaging, and send us a message.

Instead, put that form on the site, pre-configured with the necessary information, and have it route directly to people who run the Messaging service.

Fri, 2009-02-20 08:31 epu708: snowy

uhm, sorry to interrupt.
I've seen snowy almost in every thread and acting like nokia representator.
Are you from nokia or nokia betalabs team? or this forum moderator?
Cause most your reply sound cliche like from nokia PR.

lol
u make me laugh. Quote "ive seen snowy almost in every thread"...........hey went it snows, it snows.
nope, my reply may sound chicle to you, but in fact im reflecting my past responses received by nokia or read in the supports, comments by beta team,
Hey may be just the case ive had a good experience.
Take note of this suggestion; its how clear you present the question and anticipate providing the facts needed. Cuts time on the reply and confusion.

By the way "if" supposedly you have seen me in every thread and followed my comments you would have noticed the support i have provided to community members and not to mention receiving a few here and there thank yous.
And to some......not much.

Oh acting like a moderator, simple answer, everyone would like a clean and productive forum. Some may decide not to speak, i on the other hand do....

Tue, 2009-02-24 23:51 teradome: David Fields is the man!

I eventually did get a hold of Davis Fields through a comment on one of his S60.com blog posts.

He was able to get the message through to the Messaging team, who found that my account data had somehow gotten corrupted, and they deleted it per my request.

I was able to set the account up again no problem and the app is now working again. It's a shame that such a simple transaction was complicated as badly as it was. I'm enjoying having the app up and running, but I certainly don't feel as confident about the product as I used to.

In any case, the tech response I got was from tac.support@nokia.com -- After Googling this a bit I discovered this is the email address that is offered on the Nokia for Business (i.e., not the corporate) Contact Us page, so if this helps anyone else going forward, I would say start your support request HERE. DO NOT go through the general contact page as you may be led into a support channel that can't help you.
