Suggestion for Ovi Mail

Profile picture Jamaal Tue, 2009-02-17 22:05

Auto-Signature

Hi, I was just about to ditch my gmail and ymail account and go full-time Ovi.

However, after sending a few Ovi emails, I see that a signature automatically appends itself to the bottom of my email.

Example:
--------------------------------------------------------------
N-Gage: Track games, check scores on-the-go
http://www.n-gage.com

Is there any opportunity to be able to send emails without this hotmail-style advertisement going out? If so, please let me know as I was eager to start. Otherwise I cannot use this as my full-time account.

Tks

Hi

Hi Jamaal, Unfortunately there is no way to turn off the Ad tag line that is appended to the bottom of every outgoing email message. Thanks, Hem, Ovi Mail team

Hi Hem Thanks for your

Hi Hem

Thanks for your reply. I totally understand the reason for having it.

However, it's invasive and obtrusive and ultimately a showstopper for me and many others. (ie. sending personal, sentimental emails to family & friends, it detracts if the last line is "visit n-gage.com...")

I want to see this become a success and would hope that the domain @ovi.com is enough of an advertisement for Nokia.

If you guys want this to

If you guys want this to become a used email service, you got to remove that.
Have you guys forgotten the targetted audience for Ovi Mail? First time emailers, people who don't have computers, S40 users. Do you think they would be interested in all this?

As for us, i am definitely not going to use Ovi Mail for official purposes if it appends these Promo signatures to my emails.

I also agree that

I also agree that advertisement is not needed at all, ovi.com is enough ;)
