Review for Nokia Beta Labs

I was waiting for my review till the topics were displayed according to the last post! That is one of the most important requirements of any kind of discussion - It should happen after taking into account the latest developments or info. Prior to the inclusion of this feature, there were some discussions which were listed on one of the middle pages, one on the last and few on the first page. Going through all the pages or having to sort according to the last reply manually was cumbersome.

A big thumbs up for getting this feature implemented! Though it should have been on the list for the initial launch.

Never the less, now the forum will become more productive.

Am holding back on 2 stars as of now.

One for the UI. The current UI is descent and acceptable. But it can be much more pretty, good looking as well as provide more information without adding too much extra luggage.
The other star is for the features. There is a lot still to be desired and added which are required in the forums. Polls, Images, Attachments, Rich Text Editors, Personal Messages to the other users. All these are not requirement, but if you need to be the best, all of these are supposed to be there. Am sure they are on the roadmap for the future releases. Adding everything at one go would only lead to more issues and bugs.

Way to go Beta Labs! Now better than ever..

RE: "Though it should have been on the list for the initial launch."

From a development point of view, this was such a large remake that including it in the initial launch would, in my opinion, have postponed the launch too much. The previous forum was built with ready-made modules that did not fit into our needs any more. It was a question of do we launch something now and improve later, or wait without launching anything yet.

I'm glad you like the direction we're taking this. I agree we have still got way to go and I agree with the steps you suggest how to take them. From a time perspective I have to apologize we have a lot of other development work planned for this half, so unfortunately we cannot concentrate only on the forum's functionalities.
