did anyone get this issue fixed? i have finally got a friend to sign up to ovi contacts but she appears as Anonymous? her google talk user name is the same as her ovi name, could this be causing an issue?

I think this has been mentioned, but obviously not implemented. To take it one step further it'd be great if they would open it up to anyone with ANY jabber/xmpp account no matter ovi or google.

Epa jóvenes, ambos tienen razón cada uno en parte. Nokia SI debe apurarse. A mi me reconocieron como contribuyente del mes de enero me mandaron unas copitas desde finlandia y no han hecho nada con las recomendaciones más que obvias.

El cliente actual tiene fallas. Realmente parece que lo van a integrar con el nokia messaging. Carlos te invito a que montes el Nokia Messaging IM que por ahí van los tiros, le falta pero le están trabajando más que a este. Lo bueno es que tiene la integración con todas las comunidades, una mejor respuesta.

Hi all, i just instaled the nisp installer , and then the ovi contacts, later i restarted the phone , and qhen i try to use the ovi contacts icon, nothing happen on the mobile, please can you help me on this??

Hi Holy,
On some newer releases of some devices, the OC application is pre-installed.
Your device probably with the older SW release (your device platform version is lower).
It doesnt matter, it does not affect anything during your normal use.
You can download and installed seperately to your device.

You can select option Remove from Apps. folder.
Or you can download the current release to your device and install directly form your device.

Yes, it can talk with GTalk contacts and Gizmo contacts directly. (And other also use XMPP protocol IM software)

Hi, it's the right option in some condition.
The 'Send my location' meun appears only when you focus on the contact which has the ability to share the location and which is with available status.

For example: A is online with online ovi contact B and Gmail contact C.
The option appears when you focus on B.
The option disappears when you focus on C.

It doesnt support Group Chat yet on current release. It might be implemented in future.

The IM app is a great addition to Contacts. I have used it with Google Talk and it works perfectly.

I've already re-installed Ovi Contacts a number of times in my 5800. Once you install it, you can "Send my location" to other users. But after some time, that option dissapears from the menu.

with ovii contacts being inclued in new handsets it does look like ovi contacts is here to stay, but why is the evolution of this beta so slow and why is nokia messaging seemingly taking over in features.
i wish the dev team would visit here more often and keep us updated on whats coming next

Hello people. Today nokia launched a new version of its Nokia Messaging - IM Supporting Y!, Gtalk, MSN/Hotmail and OVI.

It seems to me that the efforts are being made elsewhere instead of here. ¿Is Ovi contacts as we know coming to an end and be replaced by Nokia Messaging IM?

It that's so when is it going to be available for the rest of the handsets.

As according to this post, http://betalabs.nokia.com/forum/topic/3216, we need to remove Ovi contacts in order for for the contact sync to work. Does this mean that it is now impossible to sync contacts in Ovi Suite?

i installed nokia ovi contacs in my e71-2 and the phone start to rebooting, i try to re-intalled and nothing happends please fix this bug, if someone know how to fix it! please let me know or please nokia team take care of this bug, for use this app that i love so much.
