The other problem with the slightly different location e.g. Kauniainen instead of Espoo is because Weather is showing the nearest weather station name instead of the current position. We are trying to figure a way around this, but with the current data set that might not be trivial.

Comment to 'Review: *4* nokia 6120 classic : Little bit bumpy' by redreku

About help: I suppose you are referring to the Weather page? Some of the symbols might be a bit tricky and we are actually considering some redesign there. I'll pass on the request for a help page as well.

About "Click for more": The application sends the desired resolution to the server and should get a properly sized image in return. We'll have to take a look at this particular model again.

Thanks,

There are three sis files installed (one main + two embedded) and two of those should be visible in the Application manager: a) Here and now and b) Here and now localizer. Uninstalling both of those should remove all three parts of the application. Rebooting is also a good idea after the uninstallation.

Please let me know whether this works for you.

Comment to 'Review: *4* Works Great on E71x' by redreku

We did experience a server problem during the last weekend and on Monday. This was fixed and we are planning to change the architecture a bit in order to prevent this particular issue from happening again.

By the way, we have just finished moving our production servers to a new and shiny data center built to handle some serious number crunching. Some of the recent problems are due to the new environment, but with this new setup the operation should be much more reliable than with the old steam driven system that we used to have;-)

Cheers,

Comment to 'Bugreport: New release version control ' by redreku

Sorry about that, it seems that we failed to increase the version number for this Beta Labs release. It is a manual task in the sis packaging/signing phase and this time it must have been left out by mistake. We do have a better version control for the phone program firmware releases... but now I wonder whether we should name the next Beta Labs version 3.0 or 4.0;-)

Thanks,

Comment to 'Suggestion: Look and feel, web-part and location settings' by redreku

About the screen usage: We have tried to maximize the useful area, but there are certain elements like the title bar that we cannot get rid of with the current concept. However, we do have some design ideas that we are experimenting with at the moment... let's see if something comes out of that.

About the data connection: The reason for the current behaviour is the fact that we have two separate applications in play: Here and now + Browser. However, this sounds like a real issue in some networks, so I'll talk to the developers and see if something could be done here.

About the location setting: This is something that I personally wanted to have from the beginning. Now with this latest update it is finally here. The location name on the Weather now page is a clickable element that brings up the location search. Please try it out and let me know what you think. Maybe we should make it look more like a button for easier discovery or add an icon etc?

Thanks,

Comment to 'Discussion: uninstalling this application' by redreku

Sounds like you have it preinstalled in the firmware already. Which phone model do you have? Can you see the four previews without problems with your current version?

We are kind of between beta and commercial at the moment, because the S60 3.2 version has already been shipped with some devices. Unfortunately it is not possible to install the Beta Labs packages if you already have the firmware version. However, we are delivering the same fixes to the product programs as well, so they should be included in the upcoming firmware updates.

Cheers,

Well, most of the errors fixed were only visible in the Beta Labs versions (due to sis packaging, 3.1 support and the presence on the application grid). We did fix one weird looking visual bug that affected all the versions since the four preview pictures were introduced, but the use case producing that does not seem to be as common as I feared. If you do spot it, please let me know... you cannot miss it if you see it;-)

Comment to 'Bugreport: Suddenly Can't Connect with N95' by redreku

I am very sorry, but a jammed server connection caused service outage during the weekend and on Monday. This was fixed on Monday and the root cause is known. We are changing some of the server side stuff because of this incident.

Thanks for reporting,
