Review: *4* great app, may have use for some improvement by speedgrapher

been using it since early 2008 -- works just fine, though it sometimes takes some time to get the correct location.

sometimes it still leaves some untagged photos.

some people may want it to be integrated to the camera application so they don't have to open yet another program before making photos of their vacations...

Review: *5* Love it by mbrett

I've been using this application on my N95 8Gb (product code 0554747) for over a year and have no issues with it. It does exactly whatis says on the tin (appolgies humourous ref to uk advert).
Location tagger tags the GPS location of wher you took your photographs into the image file, as long as there is GPS coverage.

Excellent app.

Review: *4* nice to have by ceroberts

this is a nice to have product. it tags all my photos, even when i use the photo blast and it will then tag all 6 photos after they are completed. very simple to use. would get 5 stars if it was better integrated into the camera function. though i may have it set up to auto-start, i always have to go to the product, make sure its on, wait for it to catch a signal, then go back to my camera to be sure they get tagged.

Review: *5* Best in class! by robertwebbe

It's a pity that this application doesn't come standard within the firmware.

My experience:
I use it on my N95 since it came available on betalabs. With this application, your photos will be automatically geotagged. The location information is stored in the EXIF data of the photo. So, if you upload the photo to sites like OVI, Flickr or Picasa, the location where the picture has been taken, is displayed.

Comment to 'Bugreport: Location Tagger keeps closing' by snowy

Hey guys let me help you out, an get you a little up to date with things. I understand if some may not be familiar with its history

First off Location tagger is an archived project & Graduated project, "together".
Meaning it graduated and in this case became integrated on following Symbian v3 feature pack 2 devices.
No more need to manually install it.

Second it was left for archive so others with previous devices may still use the application but no longer supported by betalabs team nor will it continue its development as an archived application. Possibly in the future it may re-open for further development, as the same applies for Graduated projects, but graduated projects are still supported for current bug reports and suggestions ( I believe).

For current support information and back round knowledge follow this link which shows its previous blogged history. http://betalabs.nokia.com/blog/tag/location-tagger/

P.S. It is also currently needed on the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic for location tagging till implemented on the device firmware.

Comment to 'Bugreport: Location Tagger keeps closing' by geoffg.ovi

I think the most likely cause is a resource issue, if yours is an N95-1. S60 will close apps when it runs out of resources, e.g. RAM, of which the N95-1 has a lot less than the N95 8Gb. Also, dependent on what firmware you have, this would be even more likely if your firmware is prior to memory paging.

I've run Location Tagger without problems on an N95-1. If its OK without SportTracker running, in my view this indiucates its a resource issue as above.

I've been able to simultaneously operate Location Tagger and Sports Tracker when I had an N95 8GB without incident.

You should probably do a master clear / master reset and try again as it seems as though there may be some other factors at play causing this. Also make sure you have the latest version of both (Sports Tracker is v1.82; not sure what the latest Location Tagger is)

Needless to say Nokia has ceased development on the Location Tagger app

--------------------------------------------------------------
All thoughts and opinions expressed above are those of my own and not of any other individual or organization.

Any ideas?
