Same here. I want to write mobile apps in Java and doing that in Java FX would be much easier than using the MIIDP APIs.

Does the current runtime already have Java FX support? Would be nice to see some feedback here from Nokia. (hint.. hint :-) )

Before the update i have uninstalled all my java apps

After the update, i am unable to install any java application, while installing from my memory card or USB data cable for any .jar I get the following error when installing the app

Internal Error: com.nokia.mij.impl.storage.StorageException: servererror.errorcode: -311

I have XM 5800 - firmware v31.0.101
I also attempted this on my previous firmware, which was the one before this one with same results

since my last firmware update (5.15 for 6220c) java apps running very bad.

eg
trekbuddy,gpslivetrack nav4all are quitting after a while.

so my hope was to install a more stable jre,but its only for the 5th,
not for my nearly new 6220

opera mini 4.2 had socket connection :) go to Setting->Preferences, go down and select Socket from listbox :)

after powering off midway thru a "factory restore" my phone {N95} now wont install most app's or games ? also it took about 4hrs b4 switching on during the restore. i actually thought that it was dead coz of switchin off during restore

Its high time Nokia thought of something like common updates ...like kernel updates ( symbian has gone open source and development is faster.. But the old devices are still using old symbian, they dont get a chance to update to the new version). I wonder why Nokia could take it as an opportunity to beta test all new softwares to a much larger audience rather than limiting it to people owning a special device (in this case s60 v5 ,which only 5800 and a few device supports)

I hope that we have identified the issue.

It seems that JR 2.0 Beta sends incorrect User-Agent header when downloading jar file.
Some operators may limit connectivity if User-Agent header is not what they expect.

This will be fixed in the next release and hopefully it will resolve this issue.

once installed cannot see gmail or opera. Tried reinstalling but get same error as above user every time on both products over wifi and 3g, am on vodafone v12, this is second product that just doesnt work. Unhappy with nokia and my n97 overall.

I have not been able to reproduce this problem, phone book access and local phone number were ok.

Could you tell which firmware and beta version (original vs update) you were using?

I have been unable to reproduce this issue but we are continuing investigations.

If you remove JRT 2.0 beta then the original Java runtime environment is restored. This means that any java applications installed during JRT 2.0 are removed. This is done because JRT 2.0 application registration information is not backwards compatible with original Java.

I wasn't able to reproduce this problem right away.
I had a punch of other problems with Sonic Unleash / Ovi Store that were not related to beta package.

This needs to be investigated further, thanks for your comments.

i had the same problem too.
my phone is a 5800 Xpress Music and my firmware version was 21.0.025.
at the final step of the backup (which started at 68%), it takes a few seconds to go to the 69%; then it takes some minutes to go to 70%...if you wait other 10-15 minutes it reaches the 71%, then you can wait a year but it won't reach the 100%. i've waited more than a hour but i had no results.
i had this problem with the last version of java runtime 2.0.
i uninstalled it and i lost a lot of java application i had on my phone!
this application sucks! my phone was slower with it.
i think i will never use that thing again

Sorry it took this long to reply but I was finally able to check this.

It seems that Hyves application start-up issue was limited to the first beta release. Application start-up problem was related how bluetooth was opened.

Updated beta package available on betalabs download page seems to have solved this issue.
Please, let us know if you are still having issues with Hyves.

Hi all. This issue happens randomly, usually after I start, exit and start some Java Game. I found that the second time I start the game, it does not resonse to "push down" of the middle button. e.g. For the Sonic Unleash game, "push down " mean "Start dash", "release" mean "Stop dash". When I "push down " the buttom, it have no response. However, when I release the buttom, it behave like I "push down " and quickly "release" the buttom. I think no one would feel it when using "touch screen only " application. However, it will surely cause problem to Java based games, since many game use "Hold down" as special trigger. It worked before installing the new runtime 2.0, but now the application (iGolfscorer) refuses to load. Removing v2.0 and it worked again.
Nokia Java not compatible with Nokia Java???

I also thought it should back automatically.
Fortunately, problem is resolved. By accident. When I've removed JR beta I've also rebooted my phone. It should be ok after that operation but it wasn't. So I've made 2 more reboots and finally it works.

Apps are ok, ordered at www.papla.pl and dedicated to N5800.
