Review: *4* Nokia Map Loader for Mac w/ N95 by mitkovm

Software: OS 10.5.6; Nokia Device Browser v.1.91; Nokia Map Loader 1.0; Nokia Maps 2.0
Hardware: Nokia N95 (S60 3rd Ed.); MacBook Pro (MBP)

The cons: It was difficult to get the MBP to communicate with the N95. In the end, a re-format of the N95s MiniSD card did the trick.

Hardware: Nokia N95 (S60 3rd Ed.); MacBook Pro (MBP)

The cons: It was difficult to get the MBP to communicate with the N95. In the end, a re-format of the N95s MiniSD card did the trick.

The pros: The Nokia Map Loader worked perfectly via a USB connection once the software/hardware (MacBook Pro & N95) was installed and properly configured. Map downloads and transfers worked without a hitch. The application interface is very intuitive. In particular the "history feature", which keeps track of installed maps is useful. I would definitely recommend the Nokia Map Loader to Mac/N95 owners.

Many thanks for generating this app. It should have been available much earlier as part of the installation CD one gets with the N95 purchase.

I thought Mac had some ways of making apps run on both 10.4 and 10.5? I really want to run this app but I'm also stuck with 10.4. If only we could just use linux for this cool Nokia stuff!! Then I'd dump Mac... There's a massive set of beta testers ready for you when you release Linux compatible stuff! Similar to supporting Firefox.. grab that market share that Mac and Microsoft can't touch!

I just want to add my support to this beta, and to the Nokia / Mac integration in general - I have gone from a 3310 to 6600 to N70, N95 and now N85 while waiting for the N97, and I am a mac user. I have been considering an iphone lately not because I think they are better phones, but because it would integrate better with the rest of my computing.

But now with the combination of isync, Nokia Multimedia Transfer and Map loader, My nokia phone is much more integrated into my computing, be it at work or at home. I am eagerly awaiting the new ovi suite (beta? ;-) ) to further improve this experience.

Thank you!
