Bugreport: Cant add yahoo to Nokia Messaging by sonisoe

due to a battery-cover issue, i replaced my previous e72 to a new one. gmail and ovi were successfully set up under my nokia (messaging) account, however, my yahoo was not. the message was something like "this email id is registered to another nokia msg account other than on this device"... and strangely i received a notification email in my google and yahoo and ovi mail informing that my nokia msg acct has been deactivated and needed to create a new account ? couple of questions : - as mentioned above, despite my nokia acct has been suspended, "push" still works for my gmail and ovi. however, not for yahoo. i continued installing yahoo but it's on manual sync so i dont get "push". i have to open up my yahoo, than it will connect & sync to check new email sort of manually. - if i create a new nokia account, does it mean, i'll have a new ovi mail id ? does it mean that i have to notify all my friends that my ovi mail has changed ? i hope it doesnt work this way, otherwise its pretty stupid. there has got to be someway to handle "change device". thanks.

Is there a way how to synchronize a Nokia 5800 'Express Music with Lotus Notes without having any means of a local connect?
At work we have Lotus Notes and are prevented to connect any local devices due to security reasons. I would very much like to synchronize my Lotus Notes at work with OVI and from thence to my Nokia 5800.
Appearently PC Suite will synch with Lotus Notes but won't synch with OVI, whilst OVI won't synch with Lotus Notes. The mobile phone synchs easily with OVI.
Any solution?

I just started using the built-in email client in my new Nokia E63. I have two accounts, one @ovi and one @gmail. When the client connects to gmail, it does its business and the Updating mailbox window vanishes after a few seconds. When the same client connects to ovi, the Updating mailbox window can be on for 3-5 minutes, sometimes more! What's up with that?

I am disappointed because I was hoping to make ovi my primary email account...

Bugreport: Sign-out from Ovi Mail fails by Linnea

When using Ovi Mail from my PC(internet explorer) and selecting to log-off by clicking the Sign-out on the upper right hand corner, the client looks like it starts to log out, but actually my inbox reappears on the screen and the connection is still on.

I have to select sign-out again in order to really log out. This is quite a problem if you use Ovi Mail via public or shared PC and dont sit and wait to see that you were really logged out from mail. There is a risk that the application remains open and the next user of the PC will be able to see your inbox.

Ok, thanks, yes, indeed I have the Nokia Messaging.

The version is 9.6.0.12, I upgraded in September but this did not solve the problem.

Bugreport: Can't remove Ovi Mail from phone by ayaniz

I have an E71x. I downloaded Ovi mail fine and it worked fine. But I later I wanted to remove the Ovi mailbox. Apparently, since I didn't set this account up through Xpress Mail or Exchange, I cannot remove it ANYWHERE. Very frustrating - any help?

To reproduce this issue please first import a few contacts to your ovi account using sync from from. Bug1: Ovi Mail allows similar contacts to be grouped. While selecting multiple contact entries to a single group a user shall need to click in the check box only. By clicking on the name it de selects all the previously selected contacts which were suppose to go in the same group Bug2: If at a taler stage you wish to add more contacts to a group and if my any chance you try and create a new group with same name which already exists in database it lets the user do so. For eg:- Create a group "work" now add a few contacts to this group and save it. Now try and create a group called "work" and add a few more contacts to it; it will allow a user to do so. Hence you shall now see two groups with identical names. Not sure if it is a desired behavior or should the system prompt the user " a group with identical name already exists"

I would love you to sync this two list into only one, also would like to know the way to export my contacts as a vCard so most of the data wouldnt be lost.

The IMAP/SMTP service is not the best, it has problems syncing with Windows Live Mail and Windows Mail, it creates some folders you dont neet and the ones you need are imported in english instead of their account languaje.

Ah, plz try to focus on contacts, i dont like the idea to sync everytime my phone, i love the cordless services !

When you see OVI you quickly realize that it is composed of different services all put together but not integrated, for instance you have a mail address book, share contacts, phone book and ovi chat, all off them with different contact databases.

It would very nice to have one database for all services.

Also it would be nice to have a sync tool for other services like yahoo, gmail, facebook or others.

i like the ovi mai and one of the selling points would be full integration both with the ovi calendar and contacts web services and also the ovi im. Tough ofocurse the ovi im should not automaticaly add your mail contacts

i dont see the big problem in linking these databases asuming the various ovi web services actualy run on the same platforms.

Looks great with the services provided by OVI. I would like to suggest a solution for all the sites which are being maintained by Nokia, some times in the cases where the Nokia accounts are closed directly with out singing out and if History / cookies are not deleted (if the User keep as Remember me sign in for some time). Here in this case there is a security threat from cyber Hackers, who can utilize your accounts. So the solution for this will be, ask the user to login once again. I mean to say if a particular account is closed directly, when the same account is opened once again; Here are the 2 suggestions for this: 1) Forced authentication can be enforced or ask the Visitor Authentication once again. 2) session expire.So that, The User will provide his/her authentication.

Nokia Massaging has an "@" symbol as it's application icon, whereas the default messaging application has a envelope as it's icon. Nokia Messaging only shows e-mails, whereas the default messaging application shows e-mails, sms and mms messages.

This may be a bug in the app. What version of the app are you using?

Sorry, I'm not technical person.. and don't understand how to check this "Also I assume you are running Nokia Messaging from email.nokia.com and not the default messaging client on your phone", but I set up the service as guided via automated installation SMS from intranet at the beginning of July.

During first syncs everything was working fine, just suddenly the older mails begun to be disappearing from the phone, even though the 1 month time limit has not yet been reached.

When did you set up this service. My experience is that the service will not show any emails from before you installed and set-up the app on your phone.

Other glitches have been seen, but this seems to be an overiding observation. Also I assume you are running Nokia Messaging from email.nokia.com and not the default messaging client on your phone.

My device is N95 8GB, SW 31.0.015.

The set up in the device is "remove mails older than 1 month". However, when I sync the mails in N95, it shows only few mails, eg. today's and yesterday's mails, eventhough there are other mails remainin in the inbox from the last month. The sync was performed via FRHOC, home wlan connection. Changing to Elisa Internet connection does not help, the same few emails remain visible in the device's inbox.
