C'mon Nokia. I also want this for my Nokia 5800XM.

But i am disappointed that no betalabs employee has still replied to this thread. So it may mean
that they are not working on it so far. Or is there another similar thread where they have replied?

However, i would not switch to another platform just for this app. However, i will note it down as one of the negatives of Nokia when deciding in future which phone to buy, unless Nokia improves.

I decided to have a 5800 on my O2 contract instead of the iPhone. I've always avoided the proprietary stuff (confirmed Linux geek of 8 years, no Windows here), and didn't like the way Apple tie you down. Now, 8 months later I'm still waiting for some of the apps I used daily on my N95 to become available for S60v5. Talking to workmates (IPhone owners) shows that like Linux apps become available very quickly through independent developers. If I knew 8 months ago what I know now, that Nokia are too slow with their software, it would have been an iPhone for me and if they don't hurry up, when my contract renewal is due...............

Review: *3* Useful to keep track of your wellbeing by kensai7

Nokia Wellness Diary is probably one of the most useful apps you can find for your Symbian phone. It gives you the opportunity to keep track of your daily dietary and fitness activities without relying to an external paper diary.

Nokia Wellness Diary is probably one of the most useful apps you can find for your Symbian phone. It gives you the opportunity to keep track of your daily dietary and fitness activities without relying to an external paper diary.

Wellness Diary offers many variables to choose and keep track of. The range is great: weight, eating, sleep, exercise, alcohol, doctor visits, etc. Many aspects of a normal or less normal life can be taken into account. For example, I found very interesting the fact it has a blood sugar variable for diabetic users. Maybe it's not the most scientific way to keep track of your glucose levels, but it's certainly a nice help for the less fortunate ones.

Various exercise types are available to choose from the program's database and the user can make new ones as s/he sees fit. Personal goals can also be arranged.

The nice thing about this app is that it can show all the above information in easily read graphs that follow time trends. This way the user can follow his/her progress and adjust accordingly. I personally used this app with Sports Tracker to keep track of my weekly progresses in my fitness program, while trying to change my dietary habits. It all worked well up until the incompatibility issue with the other app.

The Wellness Diary is a nice application to have if you are into a wellness program, personal or imposed by a trainer. It will definitely make it easier for you to achieve your goals. Nevertheless, there are many things that can still be improved. For example, I find the "micromanagement" needed too much of hassle. There are many entries so, unless don't you want to be accurate, you have to be always with the app open and entering data. I would love to see a "lite" version from the settings where for example you don't need to place each meal's energy by kcal, but an approach with food slots from each category (carbohydrates, proteins, etc).

Another thing to be fixed is the incompatibility with Sports Tracker. These two programs should be united in my opinion. Diet and fitness go almost always together, nowdays, so I hope for a major overhaul and union of both applications.

Suggestion: wllness diary : why not solve the major bug ? by fredcl

I'm disappointed in the effort Nokia puts into this tool. The major bug for many users is the fact that the Sports Tracker tool (latest relaese) does not work together with the Wellness Diary.
Looking to the discussions this seems to be a problem with the directory assignment within one of those tools.
I'm disappointed (as mentioned ealier) that Nokia seems not to be capable to solve this bug or create a new release in all those months since the bug revealed.

I'm disappointed (as mentioned ealier) that Nokia seems not to be capable to solve this bug or create a new release in all those months since the bug revealed.

I hope Nokia understands that in the competative smart-phone market not only the hardware is discriminating but also the software is. More and more competators have alternative solutions in phones and their applications in this area.
Nokia, you are loosing ground !

I was and still am a fan of your offering but have to switch to a new phone in the coming year. Of course I will not only select a phone by the hardware specifications but also by the availability and usefullness of the software/applications.

My improvement suggestion is to solve major bugs of highly appreciated software tools to improve the usefullness and uniqueness of your phones.

Suggestion: Blood Pressure and Pulse Improvements by rspatterson

Blood pressure and pulse rates are the most important information needed for wellness and fitness programs -- thus the feature should be set to ON by default rather than require the user to discover by trial and error that it is available in this program.

But this feature is in need of serious improvement:

1. PULSE RATE NOT SHOWN -- A Blood Pressure "New Entry" requests both BP and Pulse input, however, it appears that there is no way to display graphically a user's pulse rate. Similar PC programs graph pulse rates in the same view as BP but a separate pulse graph would be OK.

2. MULTIPLE BP AND PULSE ENTRIES FOR SAME DATE ARE NOT GRAPHED -- A good wellness and fitness program should not only allow input of BP and pulse rates throughout the day (this program does) but should also graph all entries (this program does not). If it is a question of screen clutter, allow the user to select between showing a "daily average" or "all entries."

SUGGESTED RESEARCH -- Several years ago I found an excellent freeware Windows program simply called "Health Software" version 3.0.251 (2004). HEALTH.EXE is a software cluster, which monitors and graphs your Blood Glucose levels, Blood Pressure (Systolic, Diastolic, and Pulse) levels, Weight, and A1c Results. The software is extremely easy to use. The software includes overall data statistics and graph analysis. The graph can be shown as a line or a bar graph. In the near future, I plan to add a histogram to the graph. Presently, the graph analysis (located in the upper right side of the page) shows something relating to a histogram, but in numerical form. All data has to be entered by you via the keyboard. This software is not designed to be used in conjunction with any particular BG or BP monitor.

Update: More recent versions of this PC Health program may be downloaded from here http://healthsoftware.hazeleger.net/Health%20Software%20Archive.html .

I acknowledge that some of these refer to the 5800, but the 5800 and N97 are both based on the S60v5 Operating System and and what is really needed is an S60v5 version of Wellness Diary.

Not sure if it will ever come though as we have been requesting a Sports Tracker 2.x compatible version since February 2009 and haven't heard anything on that yet.
