I think Nokia Messaging is a great application. But it takes too much of my N97 's phonememory. I can not install it on Massstorage (E:), only fully automatically on the phone memory. There it takes 2 Mb, OVI contacts takes nearly 1MB too and Mail Exchange takes onother 2Mb. Unfortunately I cannot get even one of these programs installed on E: because that choice simply is not available. Getting warnings about a memory that's nearly fully used, I have uninstalled these programs again. So please make it possible to install these programms on masstorgae E:/ !

Pretty solid push mail, but could do without the graphical gimmics and backgrounds and such, I think they slow it down a bit. I wish it could also support the native email folders (as in yahoo, also download the folders I have, since any email that gets filtered to any place besides my inbox won't be sent to my nokia). Also contact grouping (chat-styled) like in gmail would be great. Also something that could help you save new contacts.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: Nokia messageing does everything it claims to do, but the e-mail software addition for the N95 8Gb seems somewhat redundant when the N95 8Gb come with e-mail support as standard out of the box within the messaging menu. UPDATE: Following a period without using Nokia Messaging due to anumber of issues I had with it post initial review: 1) Unable to set-up main e-mail account as Nokia Messaging only permits auto set-up and not manual set-up (main e-mail account is working fine within standard N95 8Gb e-mail app.) 2) Inability to have hotmail account setup. I have now re-installed Nokia Messaging due to finding out about the new version. This version now supports Hotmail and I have found a way of semi-manual e-mail set-up enabling me to set-up my main e-mail account on the Nokia Email website which is then uploaded to messaging. A bit messy but we are there now. I am loving the ability to sync all e-mail account is one go rather than separately with the default app (which can do a degree of push-enail / automated e-mail retreaval). What I am really liking is the UI which is much better than the default e-mail app. The following would be nice though (I realise this is a graduated app such that the development team may/probably don't look at this forum anymore. (Graduated apps are no longer supported via BetaLabs). 1) Give "send and receive" a "Customize..." option like "hours" already has as I don't wan't "Soonest" as this means too much battery drain as I assume this is constant checking, but every hour seesm like quite a long period. I would probably default to every 30 mins or something. 2) Manual setup without having to result to workarounds would be nice. 3) The final and idea mod would be to merge some sms, mms etc. into it or it with the standard messaging app such that it could take over. I'm sure this will happen at some point int the future, but will probably come embedded within a new phone.

I had tried this earlier while on vacation on ecuador. Just installed and tried it. Everything worked flawlessly for me that time except the ability to change the access point was still missing so I had to open the browser to change the accesspoint used by nokia messaging. Back in Chile I removed the software and the account I was using while on vacation for testing. Then I created myself an account using my @ovi.com email as username in order to have everything nokia in the same place and this time I didn't get the SMS when registering, so I had to download the software from my mobile and figure out a way to configure my mobile correctly (which required entring an email address nokia messaging wasn't able to figure out so it asked me what to use, then I selected corporate using intellisync and netac4.vie.hosting.nokia.com as the intellisync server). Once done with installing and configuring 9.04(34) on my n95, everything seems to be working fine. I've just found that when you set the accesspoint to "search for WLAN" sometimes it tries to connect while you're not looking and then next time you find the "Search for WLAN" dialog open, though that's exactly the behavior you'd expect. Maybe a possible enhancement would be avoid presenting the dialog if the last used WLAN is still usable or if nokia messaging is in the background, though that's just a thought. What's a *must* is the setup application shouldn't create your main account on the messages folder even if it seems your phone can directly deal with it. A solution could be asking if one wants to create the account in the messages folder or in "nokia messaging"

I have to disagree with Buggy. Although there have been some slight issues re. syncing up with my GMail box, I have been very happy with the product since i installed it. the issue i'm talking about is iIf my battery gets too low (<5%), emails hibernates and generally swings back into action after i've connected it to the power outlet, however, on occasion it stays offline even once the battery has been charged an only resumes to full op once it's into a new sync period (i.e. i've got sync set up for 8am-10pm daily).

I have been having a lot of trouble setting up Nokia Messaging. Had to reinstall it couple of times. Whenever it manages to work properly, I cannot access my Calenday entries. I get an error saying cannot execute file for security reasons. This product is far from stable and should not be characterized as such.

I own a Nokia 5800 XM with the latest firmware installed. I went to email.nokia.com in my PC web browser and tried to get the SMS but it was never sent. Then i went to the same site with my phone and installed the software, i open it, it asks permission to use data connection, i give it and it goes back to the menu. I've tried a lot of situations, but didn't manage to get it to work. please help me
