same on C6-01 latest sw version (Nokia Belle Refresh, 111.040.1511.C00.01, lang pack 111.040.1511.04.01)
just hanging on welcome screen (Welcome to Nokia City Lens)
I had the same issue when I first managed to get it installed then I force closed it and re-opened it. It then opened to the tutorial... after skipping the tutorial, it started to freeze. Went back to home screen, tried closing it and then it wouldn't close. Clicked back into the app and the camera is on... not outdoors to check but I can't exit the app. LOL!
This is on a Nokia 700 with FP1.
i'm beginning to feel like...since city lens is already built-in the 920 and 820...someone doesn't want the symbian version to be working anymore. sigh sigh sigh
Well, I think the same as above, as the Beta labs team is now silent on Symbian side... They don't care for us anymore... Same issue with E7 Belle Refresh... I don't think it's compatible with newer firmware versions...
Well on the Try It page it says:
"Device Compatibility
Verified on: Nokia C7, Nokia E7 and Nokia N8
Supported software releases: Symbian Anna and Belle"
and they only offer installation instructions for first gen S^3 devices. So we should not expect it to work on anything else :(
Same situation. After updating my Nokia N8 to Belle Refresh it's don't properly work (startup screen and freeze). Very bad. Why nokia doesn't notify of compatibility?
I have the exact same issue on my 808 PV. Please fix it. We want this app to be functional on Symbian as well
Same as all of you... Not working on N8-00 after the Refresh update.
I hope someone out there from the Symbian City Lens team is listening, the complaints are piling up.
Same here. With refreshed belle on N8, the City Lense is not working. Device slows down when the program freezes.
Using a nokia C7 belle refresh. When i opened it, the small circle on the right side of the screen rotated for a second and after that it just frozed. I had to close it using the red 'end' button. The same happened the next two times. Tried restarting the phone, same result.

when i open the application it just freezes on please wait screen , after sometime i open it again , it starts , i finished withheld tutorial and worked well , but when i tried opening it again it again freezes on start and now does not open only .
same problem with N8 symbian belle refresh, no response also from beta labs team.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
same for me, it doesn't work anymore on my N8 with Nokia Belle Refresh :-(
Please, fix it till we can buy a Lumia 920 ;o)
Errbody knows and understands that the app was for testing, so it CAN HAVE issues. But why is betalabs team silent on this? We won't murder you guys if you answer.
What would you expect?! Since City Lenses are now implemented into the Nokia 920, 820 Lumia devices, Nokia no longer cares for Nokia Belle, naturally...
guyz check the link in post# 29 It's liveview(older version), may be it works. Can't check as I've downgraded my cell to 111.030.0609 and dun wanna create a mess again...:)
Check and let us know as soon as possible.
I tried Live View 2.0.1 (link in post #29). Good news - it's working. But functionality of version 2.01 is cutting in comparison with 2.03: missing search item. Well, at least so...
Okay. I haven't used Live view mentioned above. I've not downgraded my OS version. Not even uninstalled the non functioning city lens app from my C7 belle refresh. I opened the same app yesterday and it was working and it's working properly even today. I don't understand this. Maybe nokia has played with their servers or aliens had freed nokia's servers that they had acquired for some time. The app is great!
N8 symbian belle refresch, nokia city lens NOT WORKING!!! when fix for this update??? please this app is amazing and i used very...
Thanks to everyone for your patience. Following status update has now been posted to the BetaLabs Overview page for Nokia City Lens Symbian and Meego platforms:
With Windows Phone as our new main smartphone platform, naturally our focus for the development of our mobile location-based applications has also switched to Windows Phone. Thus moving forward, we are concentrating our efforts for the further development of Nokia City Lens on our Lumia range. You will still be able to use this current beta version for Symbian and the N9; however, it does not support the latest Nokia Belle Refresh update. We apologize for the inconvenience.
We are very grateful for your feedback, suggestions and insights and thank you for using and contributing to Nokia City Lens.
Best,
City Lens Team
You trying to tell us that all navigation support for Symbian now dropped and only available for long term WP8? ... Luckily we had promised to support Symbian until at least 2016! outraged
I took the path that was pending Nokia Windows Phone 8 and buy a high-end as soon as it is available, but with this attitude, no, definitely not. Next year we are forced to throw away the Lumia 920 for lack of RAM?
For months I have money set aside for the new device, I now have to wait very clear that the arrival of the new Nexus II or Optimus G, but after years of Nokia user now understand what Nokia offers support users of a lifetime.
I prefer to feel let down by a mistake in buying an unknown device, before we return to Nokia blatantly cheat.
I wish the arrival of Nexus II to say goodbye to this company so manipulative.
Nokia smiles and good wishes to attract new users in the U.S. and other markets, so you catch the way to lose all of your loyal users.
