Have you installed the application onto Memory card or the Phone memory ? Please reinstall to your phone memory and let us know if you are still facing the same issues. The first time you sync up there is an additional overhead specially as your contacts and calendar entries are also downloaded. This can happen in the background and you can proceed using the mail as your inbox synchronizes first.

I have installed onto phone memory, and it's slow. now I can not view old mails.

There is a Sync window if you need the mails for longer please adjust the synchronization window
