Shame this App will no longer be available Had this email from Visiarc 28/05/2012: "You receive this email from us because you use our Mobile Documents app and email service. Today is a sad day. Mobile Documents started out as a beta, but will never leave it. We will need to shut the Mobile Documents service down. For a long time we have been looking for an investment to continue the development - to create the world's best mobile email service. But we're just as small company and with no investment we can no longer offer the service for free. No investor on board simply means that we cannot finish what we have set out to do. We hope you have enjoyed using Mobile Documents. We appreciate the most often very positive feedback and we feel proud to always have had a four star rating in the app stores. There are a quarter of a million Mobile Documents users. You're one of them. Thanks you for this time. IMPORTANT: Mobile Documents will be taken down after June 21, 2012. The service will be up until this date meaning that if you have any documents in the document archives you will have the opportunity to download them. We're very sorry to bring you this sad news, but we have no other option. Thanks for using Mobile Documents. Best regards, Peter / The Mobile Documents Team"

Nokia E6 Ok, to get Invitation took perhaps 5-10 minutes. After installing my IMAP account with no exchange server the installation went really fine. To send mail through Mobile Documents is very quick and easy. And the mail sent are put on the sent folder on the ÍMAP sever as well, just as it should be. The inbox on the phone is also nice and clean. There is only one big issue for users of smaller screens such as for users of E6. There are 3 button to the right when opening a mail in the inbox. These 3 bottons make this application not useful for E6:users as it take to much of the visual space and reading the whole mail almost impossible. Also of course of the high resolution of E6:s screen. It would be nice if theses 3 buttons, delete, reply and sned further (I think it was) could be hidden as they makes the application only very useful for bigger screen phones. For you that have problem with Nokias embeddded imap mail, get this one. ... It is the fastest on planet earth. I mean it. And it is clean, clean as all email clients should be. Very good indeed this one is.

To be honest, Usually I don't take the pain of writing out reviews for software products I try or buy. But this one is toooo good and extremely useful app that I can't help but give good reviews. I first used it in my E71. I check emails more often in my mobile that in my laptop. Often I am stumped by emails that have attachment. Especially if the attachment is that of urgent nature, I am forced to open the same email in my laptop. Double work!! But that's not the case now. I can easily handle attachments from my Nokia E71. And not only that if I receive a doc,ppt or excel file through email, I can easily open them, edit them and send them back with ease.

I like some of the features of this app, esoecially some UI features for which I cannot understand why the native email client doesn't show e.g. the time in the header. But this app hangs so often, the mail relay is delayed as mail has to go through another server and "cherry picking" feature for attachments never worked for me. In the end, I deinstalled it, phone hangs not so often anymore and mail is in real time on the phone.

Moderator moved from MOBILE DOCUMENTS by VISIARC/Discussion/Best Free Email App for Nokia Phones Mobile Documents is hands down the best email client to use if you depend on viewing and handling attachments on your phone. I've viewed PDF's, Word docs, Excel docs, JPGs, and more and they were ALWAYS rendered properly. Is there room for improvement? Of course. It would be wonderful to have more customizable settings such as what you'd find in the app Profimail. Also, retrieving emails is a tad on the sluggish side. But this is a small price to pay for being able to finally use attachments on my phone. Thank you Mobile Documents - keep up the great work!

I tried the App for a week. It worked okay with my Gmail account. The setup on the device was straightforward after the account was first setup on the website. Various attachment files opened without problems. However, the logging-in process was rather slow at times, and couldn't find easy way to search within emails.

I had a lot of trouble setting up my Google Apps email account. Finally through trial and error I was able to set it up via the mobiledocuments website. I posted my settings elsewhere on Beta Labs, maybe it will help someone. After spending about 1hr trying to set this thing up, I though I was in the clear, but unfortunately when I tested sending mail to some of my other email accounts and although the app says message sent, I never received any messages. I would bother figuring out how to successfully send messages, however In my opinion, I found the Mobile Documents interface really hard to type into, particularly the to:, cc:, subject, etc. fields. You have these four big buttons that while they might seem practical, they always get in the way, as they never disappear unless you tap into a field and since the field heights are so tiny, it is just a pain. Also, when I tried to type in a subject it would often times jump right into the body. Overall, I found it soooooo frustrating that I gave up on the App.

I was able to successfully make it work on my N8. Email account for my Yahoo! Mail and Ovi Mail all working but for some reason Gmail aint working... It gets an error IMAP has to be enabled, but when I enabled it on the web, I'm still getting the same error... Anyone who has a solution on this??? I also hope there's a widget for this so it can be easily accessed in the homescreen...

I´m using mobile documents for some while now. It became my #1 mailclient on my N8. I use 2 different IMAP-Mail-accounts with it. Its more reliable than N8-client wich often hangs an does not load further mails until phone restart. Screenshot-tool of mobile documents, wich serves the screenshot of attached documents is a great thing. With some worddocuments I sometimes wish the server could use more fonts in worddocuments for more original display. But its still good to see the content quickly. I recogized how much I missed mobile documents, when hosting amazon-cloud-center in ireland was down for a view days by some electric power supply difficulties. Thank you visaric for this tool!

Applied for beta, received invitation, downloaded, installed. Configured four accounts, gmail, hotmail (live.ca), ovi mail and yahoo mail. Everything works as expected. Also google docs. Used for a week. However, I was looking for an email client that would give me the ability to open all accounts in a combined inbox with one click. To many clicks to get to inbox and then out and into another. Also the preview is not helpful as it breaks the subject line for example "Prevent the late...ial Attacks". And no conversation view. And for me, i very much like to be able to configure a unique sound notification for each account. I will uninstall and go back to the native email until I can find what I am looking for. I use K9 on my android and love it. Also I have Belle on my N8 and it works without any problems. The native Belle email client is actually pretty decent.

Good: For viewing all folders connected to your email and not just your inbox. Multiple email accounts. Gives good notifications of received email. Can be installed on either memory option. Does not hog space with deleted email data. I still use it so must be ok. Bad: Does not do HTML mails. Cannot remove an email account.

Uninstalled again as I can´t see what use its fore as I use exchange as only sync. source with contacts and calendar as well... My privat mail accounts are pop mails and do not support push. If instead, the exchange client in the symbian ^3 phone could support multible exchange accounts, here-under Google multible calendar sync it would be extremly nice.

First - I like Mobile Documents as email client on my mobile, because it is quick, relieable! But on the other hand ... I'm missing too much the HTML view of most of my HTML emails and the ability to move emails into other IMAP folders. So I currently use again the built-in email client of my N8-00. Another problem, not a bug, is, that the default network connection cannot be configured, so I'm not able to restrict its connectivity e.g. to my private WLAN network or to a special connection provided by my mobile network provider. Another problem was the way to configure it initially, which I was unable to do with the built-in web browser of my N8-00, because some parts of the web page use technics the web browser is not capable of. Thus to say - for people receiving mostly textual emails, not HTML emails, it is quiet worth using, but for me ... not. And people liking to organize their emails in folders won't have fun.

I think Mobile documents could easily replace the default e-mail application on the nokia N8, wich is a disaster. The application is not stable and you have to try sending and receiving several times before getting the app to work. It is been a while since the last update and I am loosing faith on this project. It has a lot of issues concerning the connection, the constant login on the MD user, and some e-mails works better than others, for instance using a "hotmail.com.ar" mail simply does not work well at all, it takes at least 15 minutes to get things to work and not loading contents correctly. I know this is a Beta release, but most beta releases at least had their primary functions working allright with occasional crashes/bugs, mobile documents has a LOT of features but the basic ones wich is receiving and sending e-mails is a total pain. The idea is great, the user interface is good, its a shame that it lacks functionality; in a way it leaves you to uninstall the application until the final version is out. (Who knows when, no news on their blog for sometime).

This app works perfect on my N8. I had some push email problems at my provider. Since I'm using mobile docs, the problem is solved.

It works fine on my Nokia N8. Although some options should be allowed for the user. For example the name of the email account is your email (exmple@example.com) and also the fact that you can't change your name, I mean the "From" subject. On the other hand the view of the pdf attachements works really well and the fact that you can select various attachments from different sources, even other emails is just amazing and very easy to use. What needs to be improved is the method of adding someone to the "To" list, who are you sending the email to. In my case it just crashes and I have to use another method, but otherwise it sends and receives really well.

Initally it appears to work well for documents, however it connects to mail and contacts also, and there inlies the probelm. The MFE option in Symbian works well already, and this interfers -- instead of getting 1 email notification, now MFE and Mobile docs also provide notifcations. Also the Mobile docs is quite slow on my Astound. It was interesting to try this option, and if it was a bit easier to configure (e.g. turn off auto start, and do not sync email) -- then it would be a useful tool for browsing online documents. Overall, it is still a beta application, and needs more polish before it can be truly useful. Right idea.. but.. not there yet.

It has a buggy UI & battery usage is a bit high. It's good for viewing PDF files but only when you receive them on emails, didn't find a way to use that viewer for local pdf files.

I prefer the look and functionality of it to Nokia's own email app. The attachments are easier to access and read. However, I don't have full confidence that it's always working properly. I have this and Nokia email client running at the same time but only to compare this with Nokia. - Sometimes the Nokia app will receive messages but Mobile Documents will not. - Sometimes Mobile Documents freezes when attempting to open a message or when 'logging in'. - Sometimes Mobile Documents will close unexpectedly when attempting to read an email. - I've tried to install the widget but can't on my N97 mini. It's a nice product but a little too 'buggy' in its present release. If it was more reliable, I would use it instead of the Nokia app.

Uninstalled this application. Too slow to catch new mails, and no way to force sync. Also, in some instances downloaded only some but not all new mails (POP3 account)

Don't like it at all. It sends email to all your contacts. All your contacts can see who is in your contactlist.
