Pairing a Bluetooth remote controller with your phone

To get the most out of Nokia Big Screen one should use a Bluetooth remote controller such as a wireless Bluetooth keyboard or a Nintendo Wii Remote. Below you can find the instructions how to pair your Bluetooth remote controller with your phone.

Wireless Bluetooth keyboard

Pair the Bluetooth remote normally using your phone’s menu.

  1. Select          Menu > Settings > Connectivity > Bluetooth.
  2. Switch the keyboard on.
  3. To pair your device and the keyboard, open the Paired devices tab
  4. Select the keyboard.

If the keyboard is not displayed in the list, to search for it, select Options > New paired device. You need to activate the keyboard’s Bluetooth discovery mode (see the keyboard’s user guide).

  1. You may need to enter a pass code. For details, see the user guide of the keyboard.

Refer to your phone’s user guide for more detailed instructions.

When Nokia Big Screen is launched it will automatically look for available Bluetooth remotes (if there is no existing Bluetooth remote connection ongoing). To make the automatic connection happen Bluetooth remote needs to be in discovery mode.

Wii Remote

Wii Remote can be paired automatically with your phone in Big Screen. When Big Screen launches and it does not detect an active Bluetooth remote connection it will try to pair with a Wii Remote controller. To make the automatic connection happen you need have Wii controller in discovery mode when Big Screen launches (press Wii Remote’s buttons “1” and “2” simultaneously, blue led will start to blink for indication of the discovery mode).
